I also replaced the fridge light which had gone out in March 2020. I'm sure there's some sort of metaphor here, but honestly every time I open it now the blinding light scares the crap out of me, so I'm not sure it's a pleasant metaphor.

The already cancelled classes on Wed/Thurs and I think it's only a matter of time before they close campus, so I already decided to forgo the extra money (though I have my fingers crossed they'll cancel Friday too) for a three day weekend. I got my desktop back from the fixit store, and I have reinstalled everything and am now achievement hunting on Steam and playing Dragon Age Inquisition for the umpteenth time. But it's okay. I downloaded a new hairstyle for my big qunari so it's basically a whole new game.

So I finally asked AO3 to send me the kudos email a couple of months ago, and it is really interesting to see what's being read and acknowledged. I especially love when one person goes on a binge. I just don't understand why anyone is still reading my oldest SG-1/SGA stuff? It's so bad. I was just starting out, it was never gonna be not bad. Y'know useful for practice, but cringe now. Someone even wanted to add my SGA AU The Last Hail Mary You'll Ever Need to their collection. I mean, I reread it and . . . well . . . at least I'm proud Ronon and Rodney became inexplicable pals? IDK.

I'm so glad that somehow fanfic writing became such a large melting pot of people and ideas. I don't know how the normals manage their day to day lives without this fix(-it fics). : )

I'm really loving this song right now. He's got several I like including Crowded Heart, but this one is just - very singable and very relatable? It's also the last song on my Sam Wilson playlist that is still semi under construction. I think it's a good pick-me-up if any of y'all need it.

fandomgiftbox which is apparently a summer time fandom stocking idea. You list your interests and other people leave little gifts. It's small and low pressure, but I don't really know a lot about what other folks are asking for yet.

This pairing is ripe for some of my favorite tropes/kinks: sharing body heat, courting misunderstandings, size difference, power imbalance, arranged marriage, grooming, and grumpy families of choice.


I also still read Derek/Stiles in Teen Wolf but I have not watched the most recent season, and I probably won't watch 3B either. I love the characters and the possibilities but I love the show runner and in universe direction a lot less. I am a little sad to miss out of Cora though.

There's some pairings I still dabble in reading when the right story comes across my flist: Steve/Tony (Avengers)and Sherlock/John (BBC). I wish there was more Mass Effect and Dragon Age I was interested in reading.

I'm also still loving the Doctor Who fandom but I don't ship anyone there.

Hi all. : ) I'm almost finished with this semester, and hopefully I'll graduate. It's not a sure thing yet, because I still have paper to write, but whatever. I'm kind of past the point where I can worry about it. I'm completely empty and pretending that the outcome doesn't matter.


While taking a break, I was hoping to work on my Yuletide assignment. I'm writing a British character for the first time, and it's really distracting wondering if I'm completely destroying his dialect. So, I was wondering if there was a British for dummies primer somewhere on livejournal? I remember there were some resources for Harry Potter and the like. I'd appreciate if anyone could throw some links my way.

So, I've been in and out, more out lately, and I'm not referring to my sexual orientation. (Though apparently I'm going to have to find a different orientation now that Jensen is officially off the market.) I'm so behind on my classwork, but I'm going to try to be around more. I've kept up with my flist a bit, and left a comment here and there, but hopefully I'll be better now. I know there's some new people around. *waves*

Supernatural: I'm really enjoying this season. Changing Channels shot straight up on my list of favorite episodes. My only complaint is that I wish they'd get back to the apocalypse soon. I think that Jensen and Jared are doing a superb job with Sam and Dean, and the episodes look pretty and the music/scores have been really good. I've been staying away from any wank so I've been pretty stress free SPN-wise. It's been nice. : )


Football: Texas totally handed our ass to us on Halloween, but we bounced back pretty well last week. I think we could win out, and I'd love to see it. Playing Texas Tech this week will be the hardest. Colorado isn't a threat next week, and ou has so many people on the injured list now. I think we've currently got more talent, chemistry, and drive than they do. Here's hoping at least.

Texas is still on track to play for the Championship! : ) I'm still loving those boys! I've watched this clip of Jordan Shipley so many times. Hook 'em!




Yuletide: I finished my letter and put it here. I ended up requesting RPF- College Football (McCoy/Shipley), Saving Grace (any), The Men Who Stare at Goats (any), and Rio Bravo (any) if any of you are interested. There's still time to join for yourself until Thursday 9pm USA central time. Or you could stalk the Dear Yuletide letters here or wait until Yuletide Madness to just write something for someone else without signing up yourself. Remember that it's a rare fandom fest, and if you have any questions I'll try to answer them.


Big Bangs: I think that I'm a one hit wonder. Which, you know, I really can't (and won't) complain about because I did write something that I enjoyed and made me better as a writer. I'm glad people seem to enjoy what I write. This year's big bangs didn't quite go over as well as Only After Disaster can we be Resurrected. They were still interesting experiences for me and I like both stories, but I don't guess that they're as assessable maybe? I don't know, I'm just kinda thinking out loud. Feel free to ignore or chime in, y'all should know by now that I don't get offended by much around here.

Last Stand at Goblin Valley -> Sam/Dean in season four is a hard sell what with Sam lying like crazy and Dean having crappy year. It contains a bit of flashback Dean/OMC before the reestablishment of Sam/Dean between Monster and Shark. Anyway, I can see how people wouldn't want to read it knowing how S4 ended despite the relative lack of angst in the story and the happy (for now) ending.

Kingdom Hearts: A Love Story -> It's a Jensen/Jared fusion with the video game Kingdom Hearts so I imagine that would put people off. Really, you don't need to know anything about KH to enjoy the action/adventure and true love aspects of the story. I loved writing this one, Jared was adorable and I had a lot of fun writing Robin Hood, Pocahontas, and Esmeralda. Them's the breaks I guess.

I need to stop watching commercials. I wake up with the most cracked out fic ideas in the morning.

1. I think it's a weightwatchers commercial where this fuzzy orange monster muppet is the woman's hunger and it's on a rampage. So I really want a Dean vs his Hunger fic where they end up as buddies at the end much to Sam's dismay. You know it probably sheds like crazy.

2. This commercial, a guy knocks on the door to take the woman for a date and he has a "mini-me" at his side that turns out to be his "fun". Now I really want a Jensen/Jared fic where at first they're just friends, but their mini-me-funs start fucking like bunnies until they can't take it anymore, sleep together, and realize they're meant for each other.

So, I bought bunny ears for my tv and now get a handful of channels. I now enjoy fuzzy, often black and white, picture with only slightly intermittent sound. If I'm not careful, I'll end up watching too much OETA and actually learn stuff. I watched a tour of the OK capitol building and found out the we had the first woman elected to state office from even before women were given the right to vote.
