I just really want a funny buddy-cop show. Please be borderline ridiculous, I'm talking B99's little brother. On the other hand, so much more opportunity for pics, gifs, and fics so we can do whatever we want ourselves.** Disney+ launches Nov 12th, and this is apparently going live in their first year. I wonder what it will mean for who the new Cap will be? I want them to just trade off every episode, but sometimes forget and just step all over each other's heroic speeches.

Kinks and Clichés: The Slave Fic(s)


I admit, I’ll always give a slave!fic a chance because it just hits slams so many of my buttons. For this one genre, I’ll suspend most of my reader elitism in the hopes that an image or two of the story will stick with me. Mostly, I can categorize what I want out of this cliché into two different plot lines:

Plot A: Through circumstances beyond the control of the characters, A is forced to pretend/act to be B’s slave. Either through fear for their own lives, the struggle to escape, or for some attainable goal these characters are forced together.

Plot B: While this might not be pure slave fic, it’s similar enough that I’d lump them together. This requires a gimmick, some sort of technology or drug that bonds the two people together (most likely against their wills at least at first).

Purely self-indulgent bullets as to why I like this cliché:

~ boys on their knees, angry about it, but wanting it soooo badly
~ collars, markings, or other possession signs hickeys
~ public submissions/ PDA (eg: petting, kissing, lounging)
~ hot outfits good for nothing but showing off the goods
~ bonding through needed proximity (including sleeping/unintentional cuddling)


I think that one of the main reasons that this cliché kinks the hell out of me is the plausible deniability. The character(s) in the vulnerable role get the opportunity to explore avenues that they’d never get the chance too otherwise. I don’t like fics where men are overly feminized (the quickest way to make me hit the back-button is tears when one of the guys isn’t near death or actually experiencing feminine stereotypes eg. hello mpreg.) but this is a chance for a character to either take or let go of control when maybe they couldn’t have before. Not that I’m saying that the character is going to throw off a lifetime of cultural brainwashing, but with the right buildup, this can be way hott.

I like bonding fics because enforced physical proximity can lead to so many, very interesting places. These fics often have the plus of enabling the characters to remain in familiar settings in a total unfamiliar mental headspace. Characters are forced to deal more immediately with others who are not affected and that leads to enforced growth/soul searching. The character has to fight against himself; his own body that is rebelling against what he wants/ or what he only thinks he wants.

So yesterday, I pampered myself by leaving the A/C on all day. That was nice. I even turned on my fish (which since I just filled up their tank again decided to rechristen them - Curt, Lincoln, and Kenobi. Curt likes to bother Kenobi.) on for part of the evening. Yeah, that's me splurging on electricity.

I found out that there's no good way to clean up raw egg from a carpeted floor. At least I couldn't find it, so please enlighten me.

Then, I couldn't go to sleep until aobut 3:30 in the effing morning. I get freaked out enough when I stay up 'till midnight because I'm between roommates and the doors don't actually lock, and this sucked big time. I've started sleeping with a hammer on my headboard, that's how paranoid I am. Then I get woken up at nine, by sounds coming from the attic directly over my room. Not a fun time.

Star Wars-

- I wish Jedi would curse like normal people. It would make our job hella easier.

- Hermione is a Jedi, it's canon. I'll admit, I bought Anakin Skywalker: A Jedi's Journal on eBay and I use it to write down my fic ideas and for a bit of inspiration. It's got notes and sketches by Annie, and towards the end he mentions the other Jedi Padawans, including Hermione, a human female.

- I want to write Jedi on a Hot Tin Roof casting Anakin as Brick, Padme as Maggie, Palpatine as Big Daddy, and Obi-Wan as Skipper. I should probably seek professional help.

- It's my goal to finish ESB by the end of the week, and then take a bit of hiatus to get back into the school swing of things. Wish me luck.

Part two is under the cut and describes the children at play and why exactly it's against C3PO's programming to impersonate a deity. Any feedback/criticisms on either part are appreciated because at least I know you read it then.

I just finished watching Kinsey with Liam Neeson. It was good, but I just feel like I have to get something off my chest. I think Neeson is a very funny looking man. I understand (I think) the sexual attraction/tension thing when he's in a really intense character, but as an average Joe I just don't get it.

The movie had some good lines about sexuality and society and some very touching stories about bad events that happened to people. It's good to be reminded that there is no normal when it comes to sex, not that I ever thought I was alone (how could I with all the slashers out there). So I just wanted to send out cyber-hugs and say that I love (in a very nonspecific and nonthreatening way) you all! Now get back to writing the hot man sex!

There were so many moments in this film that alternatively filled me with dread, made me giggle, and made me want to strangle someone. On a scale of six, I give it a four. :)

BTW: Don't forget to fill out my poll from yesterday! You know you want to!

ETA: How special am I. I forgot the rec. Now this isn't my usual cup of tea, but it's quirky enough that I stuck with it, and to see how it ends up will be very interesting. I like the characterizations and so far it's the only fic I've read that has adult Luke and Leia meeting young Anakin and Obi-Wan. (Although if any of you have recs like that I'd love to hear them!)
