Stargate SG-1 & Atlantis Cast Members To Perform AI-Driven Table Read! I can only imagine what fresh hell this AI is going to unleash. Someone should slip it some fanfic too, just to liven things up.

I'm on probation again at work! \0/ I hate them so much (but in a non-present way because I have learned not to actually stress over it). I continue to hope that the next time they're out at a fancy restaurant, they choke a little and poop themselves in front of everyone.

This year has seen an increase in bad behavior on game days at the stadium. We're open to full capacity, masks are "expected" (no one wears them), this is the third year of beer sales in the stadium, our team is a very unconvincing 5-0, and we are woefully understaffed in police and stadium people. I lost count of how many people got kicked out this last Saturday. There were two assaults on officers, several minor fan-on-fan scuffles, and a very weird domestic where dad and brother ganged up on sister and her husband. IDK, like it's not hard to not be a drunk dick in public. I'm just glad I get to stay on the other side of campus in my bunker and work the issues outside the stadium.

One Night in Miami was so good! They were all phenominal but wow did Aldis Hodge rush for all the yards as Jim Brown. Here's an interview with him and I am so excited to see him as Hawkman in Black Adam. Here's some unofficial art of what he might look like.

One of my March goals is to post twice a week!

Over at fictional_fans there's a conversation about 3 pt characterization here. The basic point being when you take a character and put them in an AU what are the things you keep about them that define them and help your AU not be a generic coffee shop fic. I am admittedly not very thoughtful at the moment, some days are a struggle not to just cry the entire time, but it peaked my interest. Some people have really good 3 pts and there is other characterization chat/links to be had.

I did a challenge for lands_of_magic mostly because I could do most of it at work! And it relates somewhat because moodboards should really break down what's important for the character/show. I might have done okay. Also, why did I never glomp onto Karl Urban as Hawke? It's so obviously perfect. I wish I'd gotten more involved in DA2 fandom.

In no relation, I finally saw Crazy Rich Asians and it's one of the best romcoms I've ever seen. I didn't cringe on Rachael's behalf once.

Poking around the internet trying to entertain myself at 0500 hours at work the other day, I found myself on IMDB. Eventually after a round-about click, click, click - I was on Christopher Judges' page, of Stargate SG-1 Teal'c fame . . . AND he is the new voice of Kratos for the upcoming God of War game!

I loved this series so much. I remember my roommate bought one of them for me because it came out right before spring break, she was going to be gone, and thus I had all week to slum it up in the living room, drinking Mt. Dew, eating funyuns, and murdering my way through the Greek Pantheon. I love Chris' voice and I think he's going to be great.

I know that there's a lot of shady stuff going on with voice actors and their business. Voice actors make games for me these days, and I really enjoy learning about how they do what they do. They should be taken care of and treated just as importantly as any other creator. Troy Baker is one of my absolute favorites. His work as Booker in Bioshock Infinite sealed my love. Apparently, they made this particular recast because they changed the way the motion captured and needed the actual actor to do it all at once. Chris is more Kratos sized than the previous actor and more used to using his body. I liked this article here.

One important lesson that I've learned from Livejournal and fandom that is applicable to that thing we call "real life" is that it never hurts to ask for something you want. I hear that this works exceptionally well when it comes to boys because they are in fact not mind readers. Who knew? (Although, I still have a roadblock for using this technique with my dad.)


So, vipersweb wrote this for my birthday! I love a good Cam pov, and this is an awesome and realistic look inside his head. Just getting on SG-1 would have been a big deal, but he had the cred for the promotion to leader. Of course then nothing really turned out as he expected. : ) I just watched the first couple of dvds from season 9, and I forgot how adorable fanboy!Cam was. Even then, you knew that he had to have been having some major doubts.

I liked this because it didn't demonize anyone. SG-1 were put was an awkward situation, and responded in character. Cam has them all pegged even while he's just trying to keep his head above water. I like Cam's sitrep on Daniel the best, probably because I still don't get Daniel all the time.


I assume y'all have heard about oxoniensis's Fall Fandom Free-For-All. eighth_horizon picked up my SPN Dean/Sam prompt - Pretending to be gay turns out to be the best idea ever. - and turned out an awesome fic. If you haven't posted a list over there, I encourage you to, and it's definitely not too late. I really liked the escalation because brothers pretending to be gay is hilarious and oh so wrong. I love the ending, it's very soft and sweet. : )

I got the boot this last round on the SG-1 LIMS community. I never really expected to slip through the cracks so many times. I've definitely come to accept that me and popular icon making do not go hand in hand, but every now and then I pop out something decent. It was a fun, neat experience though, and I'll definitely play next time too.
