[personal profile] sineala is talking about due South over here and specifically what a troll Fraser was. I watched it as a kid with my dad, and I doubt troll was a verb at that time, but I absolutely enjoyed Fraser's sense of humor and that style of passive delivery.

I saw The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent and . . . it's fine. Probably wait for it to stream unless you're a fan of Pedro Pascal's face - which was delightful. I was very confused by Nicky, but apparently )

Watched The Batman it was good, way better than I expected. The music was excellent, it really reminded me of some of the God of War III temple music. I would absolutely like to see the evolution here for Brucie and the addition of a Robin or two. I'm not holding my breath, but definitely second favorite live action Batman after Michael Keaton.

Finished Halloween Kills since I walked out of the theater it was so stupid. It continued to be absolutely the worst.

I went to see Moonfall yesterday and while it could have been the most ridiculous fun, instead they went for mostly serious action movie with a side of whimsy. I still enjoyed it. The special effects with the moon were just beautiful.

But mostly, I want to tell you that I accidentally showed up early enough to see a couple of the previews and one of them was the new Nic Cage movie with Pedro Pascal called The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent - so y'know, no pressure there.

In The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent, Nicolas Cage plays Nicolas Cage, an actor enduring a career slump, who is forced to take a million-dollar job attending a wealthy super-fan’s birthday. And Nicolas Cage has to assume the identity of several classic Nicolas Cage characters, which are all real-life Nicolas Cage characters because Nicolas Cage is playing the real Nicolas Cage. Additionally, Cage will also play Nicky, a figment of his own imagination.

ETA: I also meant to point out this sorta interactive guide to bubble tea I love the honeydew with tapioca I get at my local (not really)Thai Cafe. It kind of reminded me of the Cube rule of food identification website.

I mean sure, some people post what their reading, but I'm reading The Magicians, The Sirens of Titan, and Trail of Lightning but who knows if I'll finish any of them. I am a terrible reader. I fall for the characters and then want them to do what I want them to do.

But, I did watch a lot of TV this year and all these things are renewed:

The Orville, listen this is my dumb little space show that could, and I love it and this season was perfect except for one outfit in the final episode that threatened to roll my eyeballs out of my head. It's got a 65/94% rating on rotten tomatoes. It's a drama! Except when it's funny which is nearly always. Bortus is my favorite character and wow did he get a lot of time in season two! They really love to spotlight the nonhuman members of the Union. It's not gross or cringy, it's optimistic and heartfelt. Okay, sure, the first episode of this season was about Bortus' yearly urination ritual, but somehow it turns into a real bonding moment for the crew and IDK, okay?

9-1-1 solid second season, the finale was a bummer to me but otherwise I still love the cast. We got several origin story episode and I loved all of them. I find it funny that they get the cop parts of the episodes so not right a lot, but the dispatch parts are real good. There's an episode where Dispatcher wants to quit to go back to nursing because she can't reconcile that she only gets to try to help the people that call and once there's a uniform in front of them they hang up on her. So to prove to her that she does help, they bring in everyone that she's ever talked to from the first episode so she can get 'the rest of the story' and yeah, I balled just wailed I was so happy for her. I like that all these people are good people and you can cheer for them and be happy when good things happen. It got a bit drama heavy at the end, but getting there was fun.

The Rookie, I am not a Nathan Fillion fan, but he's okay, and then ensemble for this show is real, real, good. They get a lot of the cop parts right (except for the white triangle of death which LA cops should for dang sure know better, and some sloppy trigger control), and it's extremely relaxing for me to watch middle aged, mature Nolan out there making good decisions when sometimes I capslock at my coworkers that they are basically TODDLERS WITH GUNS, WHY?!?!?!?!?!?!. This show gave us a cliffhanger that I didn't need on the finale, and killed off a character that should have had way more air time and stuff to do, but otherwise I loved it. The romance aspect isn't beaten to death, but there's some there, especially between West and his way too cute boyfriend nurse. They are adorable and treated with respect in the show and I love them.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine, I actually just re-binged the entire series and can now for sure say that Gina was the worst part of it and I'm so glad she's gone. I had so many B99 dreams, these characters are so good and consistent that I couldn't keep my subconscious clear. Holt/Kevin is my married couple OTP they are perfect and nothing had better ever, ever happen to Kevin. Safe House, the ep where Jake and Kevin are hiding out watching Nic Cage movies is in my top five episodes of all tv episodes of all time. I was also very gleeful at this season finale as Suicide Squad was the best team up ever and I made so much noise when I was watching it. I love Dean Winters.

So what's next? Catch-22 looks interesting on Hulu. I still want to give The Umbrella Academy a chance. And for nostalgia sake I want to attempt the impossible rewatch of Supernatural so I can watch the last season live. This seems like a terrible idea and will possibly end in my death, but I am full of bad ideas and work is the most boring place alive.

I want to be Bob Denver on acid playing the accordion.

As I have recently been discussing Nicholas Cage with various people, it seemed fitting that I stumbled over this gem at redbubble.com.

I love me some Nic Cage. : )

I have a job. Unfortunately for me personally, it's in clothing retail. I'm not really into clothes, but I can smile until my face hurts and say "How can I help you." until something better comes along. I am looking forward to using my employee discount for some much needed bra replacements.

ETA: Just remembered what else I wanted to talk about -> MASS EFFECT 2. Got this for Christmas, and I have no idea what's going on. The text is really hard to read on my old box TV and I have no idea how to make money or what to spend it on. The upgrade system is very beyond me. Also, I am terrible at shooting, but it is awful fun when I managed to get that perfect head shot (about half the time, I'm actually aiming for the head too! \0/).

I'm random.

 • I didn't put a number up there, because then I feel boxed in and can't make a list of any specified length.
 • I just surfed eBay looking for a Gonzaga basketball t-shirt. This is significant because the Zags beat OSU earlier this year.
 • My claddagh ring makes me insanely happy, but I wouldn't say no to a claddagh necklace.
 • I like have the window in my shower, and I don't turn the lights on if I don't have too.
 • I can't wear watches at all, because it then feels like I have no choice in the continual onslaught of time. Yeah, try to figure that one out, I dare you.
 • I'm thinking about making an attempt to write paranormal romance novel.
 • I have an inappropriate crush, and no it's not Adam Morrison, because that is totally appropriate.
 • OnStar is the mark of the Beast. I'll never have a vehicle with more electronics then my truck does now. No power windows or locks. The Government won't be able to track my every move.
 • Basket Case is my favorite spirit band song.
 • Stargate SG1 is my favorite tv show at the moment.
 • Mercedes Lackey is my favorite author of all time with Oscar Wilde coming in at second.
 • If I could do anything, I'd want to go camping by myself.
 • While camping by myself I scare myself to death thinking about zombies looming out of the dark bent on eating my brain.
 • Sometimes I hope for zombies to loom out of the darkness bent on eating my brain.
 • I want to work for the State Dept or the NSA.
 • I could eat pistachio nuts every day.
 • Sometimes I think I might be something of an anarchist.

I want to write up about this semester's classes tomorrow after I finish my next three. I've got a basketball game on Wed. which is on one of the ESPN channels if anybody out there doesn't have anything better to do. The Weather Man is playing in our Student Union theater for two bucks. I'm excited, I love Nicholas Cage, and have never not loved a movie he did. Saturday is women's basketball (boo) then going to see Brokeback Mountain (yay). And I get next monday off, I love MLK day.

I love Adam Morrison's pornstache and nothing you can say will change it. I need an icon. Go Zags! Go Pokes!
