At one point I knew David Hewlett was in The Shape of Water, but I had completely forgotten by the time I went to see it! That was the best of fun surprises. He was a squirrely little guy with awesome hair.

The movie itself was beautiful. I’d heard some criticism about the period setting of the movie, but for what it was, it was done very well. The colors, the music, the costuming, it was all done with so much love. It might have suffered a little in the middle. I would have like a little more attention to the creature, but it was still a better love story than most of the movies Hollywood churns out.

I was disappointed our theater only kept it for a week. When I went to see it, there were two groups of some older people. And. . . well . . .I wasn’t the only one who didn’t pay attention to the show’s rating and warnings. : ) One lady loved it though, she clapped and was adorable.

Here’s David Hewlett being dorky:

I didn't realized DH was in the movie Rise of the Planet of the Apes. I really didn't want to want to see this movie, but the trailers and previews they've been putting out look really interesting. It creeps me out a bit. I've never been a primate fan.

I stole this from ONTD: Andy Serkis introduces a 4-minute clip where Caesar comes to the aid of his human friend in 'RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES.'

I love Hewlett's jiggy pants. Seriously, you can see everything.

I'm not getting comments. Probably no one needs me, but just in case, you should just cut to the chase and email me -> sly_bone at hotmail dot com.

I was being so good and not ordering A Dog's Breakfast until I had some bills paid and extra saved up. Then, I actually found it at Hastings, and once it was in my grubby little paws, it was too much to resist.

I watched the special features first, and I just missed being in one of the featurettes by >-< much. : (
It was their first premiere at LA, that the ex-roomie and I went to. I was interviewed and made the cut to the evening news, so I guess I shouldn't be greedy.

The movie was excellent the second time around too. It was totally different watching it knowing the ending, there were actual layers that I completely missed the first time when I was laughing my head off. I don't think anyone else in my family will like it, but I'll make them watch it anyway.

I made icons. Feel free to take and edit to your heart's content. If there's a particular screencap you want or want an icon from, drop me a line and I'll see what can be done.

It's almost 2am, and I am awake because I am so freakin' nervous about going to the Junior High tomorrow.

And yet, David Hewlett makes it all better. Seriously, could this guy get any more adorable? Oh geeze. Click here if you'd like to see David do his owl impersonation.

Why isn't SG-1 this adorkable?

All right. So, I obviously suck quite a bit and have decided that a full write up of last weekend’s con is simply not going to happen. Instead, I’ll make a list.

1.) Being able to talk out loud with other fangirls is a gift that should never be taken for granted. Ever. Thanks so much to everyone I talked to and laughed with, you guys made my trip!

2.) Michael Shanks is a lovely guy. A lovely guy who has a lifetime movie coming out on Dec 4. He’s pretty, nice, and seemed genuine though he definitely had the whole convention “experience” down.

3.) David and Kate should have their own comedy show. Jane too. It would be hysterical. Mars could guest star.

3a.) David Hewlett is gorgeous, hilarious, has a hot voice, and couldn’t be more adorable if he tried. Of course, all his cast mates noted his crankiness, which only endears him to me more. (Did I say that right? Oh well, you get the picture. I love me some DH.)

3b.) A Dog’s Breakfast was pure genius. Patrick (DH) was a wonderful character who I now want to slash with Lionel (JF) from Family Album. Seriously, this movie even made me like Paul Mc. I never thought that would happen. As soon as this DVD comes out, I’m buying a caseload.

4.) Apparently, the lemon in Pegasus Project was all thanks to Ben B. That’s something new to look at in regard to the ep! : )

5.) I am very unimpressed with Torri and Jason. They seemed nice enough, just not that memorable. I only watch Atlantis for McKay and Sheppard, I admit it. Even then, I still end up irritated over how random they all are.

6.) I came home with way too much stuff, and now I don’t know what I’m going to do with the posters, pictures, banner, and calendar. None.

7.) Oklahomans do not belong in California. Yes, there was that one time, Grapes of Something or Another - whatever. I could never live there. Claustrophobia aside, I think my lungs are irreversibly damaged. It was nice to see the tumbleweeds again as soon as we hit the Texas border.

Kate Hewlett is going to be at the convention this weekend! I am so excited, TWO Hewletts! Two! They are going to be the cutest/funniest/most interesting pairing up there.

I leave on Wednesday! My very first convention ever! Eeeeeeeeeee!

I'm going to quietly hyperventilate over in the corner now.

1. Has there been any fallout from the David Hewlett postcard campaign? Is there expected to be?

2. I want a copy of Military/Intelligence so bad! It's a Sheppard/McKay zine. I would totally take it to class with me.

3. I'm going to see PotC II tonight, so I'm going to put every post I find in my memories and not look at them, becasuse I don't want to be spoiled.

4. I'm playing Final Fantasy VII again and I have totally amused myself by renaming all the characters after SGA. It's my goal to get Sheppard and McKay to go on a date at the Gold Saucer.
Cloud = Sheppard
Barret = McKay
Tifa = Teyla
Aeris = Chaya
Red XIII = Zelenka
Yuffie = Cadman
Vincent = Ronon
Cait Sith = Dr. Weir (because he dies, and I have wishful thinking)
Cid = Caldwell

5. I have to actually go to class every day now. It's horrible, but I decided to just take my laptop to keep notes on, that way I won't have to buy and lug around five different notebooks for class next semester. It's also way convenient as I type well, and can add in those little tangents that the prof goes out on. I have this phobia about annoying other people with the clicking though. Y'all have any thoughts on the matter? Would it bother you?

6. And finally, yoinked from [livejournal.com profile] wild_huntress:

1. Pick your birth month.
2. Strike out anything that doesn't apply to you.
3. Bold the five-ten that best apply to you.
4. Copy to your own journal, with all twelve months under a lj-cut.

Here's my last [livejournal.com profile] de_recs entry. If I were a writer for Due South, I would write:

Episode Title: Mi Casa es Su Casa, but Check your Baggage at the Door.

Episode Villain: Victoria Metcalfe

pic )

Plot: Victoria comes back for one more shot at convincing Fraser to go back with her. While in Chicago, she finds out about RayV’s undercover work and tries to blackmail RayK.

Side plot: Ray finally convinces Fraser to move out of the Consulate, but maybe now isn’t the best time.

Guest Stars: David Hewlett as a (gay) apartment building manager

pic )

Memorable Quotes:

Fraser who has obviously been trying to get Ray’s attention for some time: “Ray, Ray, Ray.”
RayK as if snapping out of hypnosis: “72”
Fraser slightly exasperated: “What?”
RayK triumphantly: “That’s how many times you’ve said my name since yesterday.”
Fraser sighing as if long put upon: “Dad was right; I’m investing in the shock collar.”

RayK after David’s character hits on Fraser: “What is it with you? Some secret Canadian peritoneum?”
Fraser: “I believe you mean ‘pheromone’, Ray.”
RayK: “Whatever. You guys smell things. Inappropriate things at inappropriate moments.”

Episode Highlights:

~ RayK and Victoria getting into a chick!fight complete with slapping and hair-pulling.
~ Fraser Sr. complaining that he’s being left behind.
~ Victoria finally getting her comeuppance.
~ Fraser moving in with Ray at the end of the episode.

Your turn! Tell us about the episode you would have written into the series. Get as wild as you want, or stick as close to canon as you can. Bring back your favorite villain, guest star, or plot. Or add your own new villain, guest star, or plot. Give us quotes, scenes, sets, or anything that strikes your fancy. And hey, if anyone gets any fanfic ideas from this thread, that’s all the better, right?

So, I totally meant to update yesterday, but I was distracted first by cleaning up the spectacular YUK that had taken over my kitchen and living room since the last time I cleaned. (Which, admittedly was the last time my parents came to visit last November. I suck.) I'm still in the process of cleaning my room (I can kinda see the floor now) and the bathroom (Oh God, give me strength). Other people go skiing or to the beach for Spring Break, I clean. Yeah...

The second thing that distracted me was David Hewlett in Boa vs Python which OMG horrible, awful Sci-Fi with horrible, awful acting, plot, and special effects, that you should all see before you die because hilarity ensued and I wished I would have had someone to watch it with.

NCAA picks came out on Sunday, and I'm not going to into how utterly wrong they are. Not that we expected to get in, (but a sixth seed in the NIT is no picnic either) but wow. So my cracktastic Final Four picks are: Texas vs. Gonzaga and Tennessee vs. Villanova with the Championship Game Gonzaga beating Villanova 69-67. Just watch and see, it'll happen when hell freezes over.

I wanna make a post later about my favorite elements, kinks, plots, and turn-ons are in fandom and fic. *note to self*

I want my roommate to come back, the house is too quiet.
