The details: But now Marvel is making room for both Sam and Steve. This spring, the one-shot issue Captain America #0 will mark a new beginning for the founding Avenger. Two new ongoing comics will come out of it. Captain America: Symbol of Truth starts in May, will focus on Sam, and will be written by Tochi Onyebuchi with art by R.B. Silva (Powers of X), while Captain America: Sentinel of Liberty arrives in June, will focus on Steve, and will be written by Collin Kelly and Jackson Lanzing with art by Carmen Carnero (Hellions).

This is the fella that wrote Riot Baby which is still in my to read list.

It's so light outside with all the snow, it's very pretty and I'm looking forward to watching it tonight as I stay home and enjoy not being at work.

I finished my new game+ ultra hard on Horizon Zero Dawn this morning to 100% all achievements!!! Yes, I hunt achievements. That little chime is my crack. I want the new game so much, but I've decided to wait and try real hard not to get spoiled.

1. Your main fandom of the year? As if there was any doubt, but clearly it’s The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Sure, it wasn’t the best plotted or paced mini series ever, but those fellas looked good and there were enough great character moments to keep me thinking about them.


2. Your favorite film you watched this year? The Suicide Squad and Spider-Man: No Way Home for opposites reasons. I loved how random, violent, and grumpy found family the suicide squad becomes. I loved how Spider-Man is a hero who has always tried to save other, especially the everyday people and the bad-guy goons.

3. Your favorite book read this year? When We Were Animals is still in the back of my mind.
“Promises are easy to make. [...] They speak of a defined future to which you are required to adhere. They commit you beyond the length of your experience.  What they do is take away possibility.   Promises are the opposite of hope.”

4. Your favorite album or song to listen to this year? Once I figured it out, my Sam Wilson TFATWS playlist is my most listened to according to Spotify.


5. Your favourite TV show of the year? I really enjoyed Loki like, much more than I ever would have expected. Fandom turned Loki who was a lackluster unmotivated villain into the woobiest and I detest woobies. He was better in Ragnarok but I still didn’t care much. Loki just hit the right combination of fish out of water, redemption arc, and found family friendship. Loki/Mobius has a lot of potential, but the power dynamics of a lot of the fanfic is not my cup of tea.
(Though one of my favorite parts was the behind-the-scenes where Owen Wilson looked pleased that Tom Hiddleston thought he could play Hamlet.)

6. Your best new fandom discovery of the year? I can’t think of anything that really answers this question? I only wrote Sam/Bucky and Dragon Age.

7. Your biggest fandom disappointment of the year? Well, I didn’t expect much from Black Widow, and we did get Yelena out of it, so I’ll go with Candyman. I’d been very excited and into the trailers, but the movie just didn’t work for me, and it wasn’t what I wanted it to be anyway.

8. Your fandom boyfriend(s) of the year? ( Pls, I am Sam Wilson monogamous. )

9. Your fandom girlfriend(s) of the year? I spent a lot of time back in Mass Effect when the Legendary Edition dropped, and Commander Shepard still means so much to me. She is fantastic, and I love her face, and I love sniping the bad guys.

10. Your biggest squee moment of the year? I really enjoyed the last season of Brooklyn 99 and I thought they made good decisions for the characters and story given the filming and plot issues they had to deal with.
But also, let’s face facts, and the reveal of Sam’s Captain America uniform in TFATWS was clearly the fandom moment that elicited the biggest reaction from me.

11. The most missed of your old fandoms? I watched the Synder cut of Justice League and really enjoyed it, but it also apparently opened some old Jason Momoa feelings, so I went to poke around SGA. I wanted Ronon Dex/Rodney McKay, but sadly there is not a lot on AO3 and I don’t remember where else I would look from a million years ago when I was in the fandom.

12. The fandom you haven’t tried yet, but want to? IDK? I want to try watching Wheel of Time, Station Eleven, and His Dark Materials at some point, but even if I get through them it doesn’t mean I’ll be fannish about them?

13. Your biggest fan anticipations for the coming year?  Sadly there aren’t any Sam projects for 2022 that I know about, so I am VERY excited for video games! Horizon Zero Dawn: Forbidden West drops in February and God of War: Ragnarok at some point. I guess I need to start actually trying to get a PS5 now.

and I'm terrified of the oven light burning out. I mean what do you do? Buy a whole new oven?


I'm relearning the drawing app on my tablet after a very long hiatus. For ficinabox reasons and I'm excited! But it's hard. But I've also finally accepted the fact that I will not be able to finish these two things I'd been working on in 2019 for a reverse bang because I can't match which tools I was using for which lines. So please enjoy these partially finished dumb things.

I am very envious of people who can practice drawing until they're good at it! That's not me. I get a reference. I trace what I need from the reference, and then I add the details I want to do the thing I want it to be. So, just saying. I cheat a lot and am not an artist.

What's changed about your fandom life in the last 365 days?

It was so hard to watch new things last summer. All the movies were cancelled. I was working 12hr night shifts. All I did was hate watch Once Upon A Time and all 40 seasons of Survivor. I finally started watching new things in December. Now since Falcon and the Winter Soldier is over I think I have more WIPs than I have in over a decade. So many files with so much porn. I'm doing two exchanges right now: heatficsummer and multifandomhorrorexchange so I'll at least finish something . . . eventually . . . hopefully. . .

The kindle editions of Sam Wilson's Captain America run collected in Vol 1 and Vol 2 are available for $10 each right now. no idea how much they are usually. I own the volumes that are just Sam's, but these include crossovers into other titles.

I really liked Bucky and his unwanted friendship with Redwing in this fic. You know I love Redwing. Both Sam and Bucky look good here and I enjoyed the bad guys. Quality time!

Bucky regretted a lot of things in his too-long lifetime, but right now, at the very top of the list, with a very bold bullet point, was keeping that damn drone in the specs for Sam's new suit. Now the little pest wouldn't leave him alone.

But, he still had one last set of amends to make, after all.

I went to see the movie again on Sunday with friends and still enjoyed it. I don't think I'll be able to watch it again in theaters though, so we'll see if feelings change between now and xmas when I'll ask Santa for a copy of the movie.

I've got just over 2000 words of Bucky and Steve fic from the endish of the movie. It just makes me sad so I haven't been poking it daily. We'll see if it ever meets the light of day.

I haven't messed around on pillowfort too much yet, but I can see that with some content the interface would be really fun to engage with. This is me. I've done one thing! So I watched Captain America: Civil War went it up on Netflix back in december, and while I remember being so disappointed in it when I saw it in the theaters, I enjoyed it. Mostly because I just focused on those good character bits between fight scenes and whatever gross entity took Tony's face and his last shred of common sense. And obviously I fell down the Sam/Bucky hole. Oops?

“His therapist suggested he work on his ‘I want’ statements,” Steve explained in a stage whisper once he and Sam finally crossed paths in the kitchen. “You don’t have to do whatever, but it’ll help him start to think about his preferences and then practice verbalizing them. Maybe, be nice to him, okay?”

“You know he still has super hearing, right?” Sam pretend whispered back, rolling his eyes as the blush conquered Steve’s face. “Anyway, Sam Wilson does not acquiesce to anything Sam Wilson does not want to acquiesce to.”

“I want to sit in here now,” Bucky said, slouching to the table and aggressively sitting down in the corner. He glared at Steve until the other man ducked his head and shuffled out.

“Damn right, you do,” Sam agreed, handing over the sudoku and flicking a pen at Bucky’s face.

Sam had managed to get his wings and chest piece off and stowed in the jet. His uniform was was complicated, put on in pieces to protect more area while still giving him necessary flexibility. He groaned in relief as Bucky unclipped the first strap of his shoulder armor. Instantly his body rested in a more natural slouch. "This better not be the set up for some kind of prank," he warned, letting Bucky move his arms to slip the piece up and over his head. "I am too tired to deal with your chicanery today."


AU in which Sam is an angel/cupid and has to try to fix it when Bucky gets an accidental arrow:

"You've got the wrong address," the man who'd answered growled. He had long, scraggly hair that had mostly escaped his attempts to pull it away from his face. He had nice eyes, and wouldn't have been unattractive, especially with a shave, except for the scowl. "Nobody here wants or needs your . . . services."

It was apparent by the tone the man did not appreciate Sam's hard work.

Well, that was tough shit.

He slipped his suspenders over his shoulders and untucked his tank so he could wipe away any remaining smudges. He hadn’t bothered to stop inside, too excited to spend the extra time with his angel. Peggy was kind enough not to poke too hard at Bucky’s about-face to romance, but Steve was a master at saying ‘I told you so’ without saying any of the words.
