For the big eight oh, Marvel released 8 different variant covers of other heroes wearing Cap inspired costumes. My favorites are Miles Morales and Natasha Romanoff - even if it is quite Russian though I already accepted my 1812 overlords in yesterday's post.

The United States of Captain America #1 came out and while I haven't read it yet, I know what my favorite page will be. It's this one. Sam is a great foil for Steve in a funk. And look at the way he's holding that donut box, that man is not sharing!

I'm not a Beatles fan, so I have no idea how the originals went, but here is Jack Black being his best self and supporting charity:

Well. . . they tried? I didn't like it much, but thinking about it, I think it had a lot to do with how they filmed it. Maybe? Like there was no sense of wonder or magic, and it's like they had to try really hard to make such a beautiful place be boring. The characters and cast were okay, except for Karen Gillan who I will love forever. While I understand the logic behind them defending her ridiculous jungle outfit, it's still stupid. If they were truly aware of how it affects media and people, they would have subverted it quickly.

Also, people were taking their little children to go see it, and I'd never once considered it might actually be a kid's movie. Then Jack Black started talking to his dick, and I sat back in my smugness. Though the idea of a 16 year old beauty queen stuck in Jack Black's body was hilarious and I thought done really well. I mean, who among us wouldn't be thoroughly entertained by a spontaneous penis?
