The Shape of Water

At one point I knew David Hewlett was in The Shape of Water, but I had completely forgotten by the time I went to see it! That was the best of fun surprises. He was a squirrely little guy with awesome hair.
The movie itself was beautiful. I’d heard some criticism about the period setting of the movie, but for what it was, it was done very well. The colors, the music, the costuming, it was all done with so much love. It might have suffered a little in the middle. I would have like a little more attention to the creature, but it was still a better love story than most of the movies Hollywood churns out.
I was disappointed our theater only kept it for a week. When I went to see it, there were two groups of some older people. And. . . well . . .I wasn’t the only one who didn’t pay attention to the show’s rating and warnings. : ) One lady loved it though, she clapped and was adorable.
Here’s David Hewlett being dorky:
I finally escaped day shift and am back on nights. I don't understand how most of the world thinks it's appropriate to make people get up at stupid o'clock before the sun is even up to go straight to work without doing anything fun or necessary chores first. Then all your energy is spent and by the time you get home you just want to flop on the couch and stare at the space in front of the TV.
Ha suckers!
I'm back on three nights of 2200-0800 and one of 1800-0400. At least it's warm right now. I'm sure I'm going to suffer when this next cold front blows in. It's supposed to feel like 23 when I leave work in the morning. brrrrrr
To facilitate moving to my new sleep schedule, I totally put off exercising for a week, so when I climbed back on the elliptical today, there was very little I wanted to do less. It's the start of week four of my couch to 5k program. I haven't actually managed to lose any weight yet, but I feel better and that's the bigger deal.
I'm trying to bullet journal again, but I'm going back to the graph lined composition book instead of the trendy leuchtturm I abandoned last year. I just wanted it to be so pretty, and didn't have the time to spend on all the extras swirls and drawings. I just want to do this one in order to trick myself into completing my to-do lists. : )
