Thursdays aren't great, I work ten hours wed-sat, and I have no brain after the first three hours or so. Summer is boring. Summer is the worst. Did I have a point? IDK, I love magical realism. Okay, I'm sure that most of you have all heard about the craziness going on within the Jensen/Jared community about the boys getting married and whether or not it's just a PR scam. Now, I don't have anything against RPF obviously considering where I spend my online time, but apparently, I happen to be one of those rare individuals who can compartmentalize and recognize reality from fantasy. That probably came out a little harsher than I intended, and I'm totally not pointing fingers at anyone on my flist -> y'all are sweethearts and not just compared to the slavering nut jobs on spn_gossip.

I think I might be done with J2 fic.

It's all kinda sounds the same now anyway. I haven't read any Jensen/Jared for over a month now, but I'm pretty sure that it's been awhile since I read something that I really, really enjoyed. There hasn't been anything new, just revamps of the same kind of plotline with the same characteristics used over and over again.

I still love Supernatural -> the show and the fandom.

I can't wait for the new episodes to start, and I'll be on the hell yeah bandwagon for a season six. : ) I love Sam and Dean as characters and in their story arc more than most other television that I've watched. That's unlikely to change soon if ever.

I'm still a fan of Jared and Jensen.

I think the boys are still entertaining and enjoy watching them work. I'll check out what ever project that they fall into next and at least give it a fair shot. Unless for some reason it's about Sooners, but that's a whole 'nother cup of tea.

I don't know whether to go to the LA Con or not.

I still wouldn't mind meeting/watching (but not in the creepy way) them in person, but I'm feeling a little more awkward about doing so at a convention now. My friend (who is not in fandom and has no idea that these shenanigans happen with alarming frequency in the SPN/J2 fanspace) and I have gold tickets and photo-ops with Jensen, Jared, and the J&J sandwich. I guess that I just can't decide between the potential fun of hanging out with friends, seeing the SPN cast, buying crap I don't need and the potential embarrassment squick if something bad happens or the cast is Not Amused TM by the bullshit that a couple of "fans" have been pulling.

IDK. Advice, please?

Okay, so there were a couple of times that I thought my embarrassment squick my trip, but it never actually did. This isn't crack! It is an awesomely well written and gorgeous story about loving yourself, which is something that I've always had a problem with. I don't know how a person can have a superiority complex while not actually liking themselves, but I manage. I think there's irony in there somewhere.

Jensen is awesome. You can still see our Jensen in this AU, he's sarcastic, funny, and a little people shy. He's got a lot of problems, and it's so satisfying to see him work through them. His thought processes make so much sense to me -> especially how he gained the weight to begin with and what finally spurs him on to lose it.

Jared is hot. I'm not just talking about his perfect health trainer body, but the characteristics that make up his personality here just made me fall in love with him. He can and does tell it like it is, but he helps Jensen through so much - his weight and self-esteem issues. He's funny and cute, and I love stories where the reader can almost feel how in love Jared is.

By their powers combined -> they have really, really hot sex. Yes, there are a couple of setbacks, but when they get to it ... whoo! *fans self* I absolutely melt when Jared starts talking to Jensen in bed. It hits my buttons like nothing else.

The art is very lovely too! Go check out pre weight camp Jensen. It's adorable.

This is totally one of those stories that I will keep in my folders for a long time. : )

Also, I don't rec fic all that much, but I really enjoyed Home Improvement by facetofcathy. J2

Jared was a grown-up; he didn't need Jensen to look after him. Not his job. Not his house. Not his damn dogs.

I love how the writing flows, and how it sucked me in despite how melancholy it feels. I loved this Jensen and how he relates to both himself and Jared. The fic has a neat structure because it's just Jensen trying to fit in during the first part and it works out so well. There's so much that isn't said that it really lets the reader plug a bit of themselves into the experience and I love that.

Seriously, go try it and see if you like it. This is going to be one of those fics that I go back to.

Finally, something good happened yesterday that pulled me back from the brink of a complete and total melt down. To celebrate, I read memphis86's The Seahorse (Jensen/Jared NC-17) and jesus christ, that's an awesome story with awesome art by ignited. JENSEN IN SCRUBS IS THE HOTTEST THING EVER! I don't care if you don't like mpreg, go look at the art and start reading the fic. If it doesn't pull you in by the second act then you're made of stronger stuff than I am. Every single character (and there are many from Katie Cassidy to Tom Welling) are complicated, well-rounded people, and the pacing is excellent. This is like the ultimate feel good fic.


ETA: Don't forget to feed the Big Bang artists. You can tell when someone worked really hard on something, and they deserve to get pages and pages of love too! : )
