SG-1 : Ark of Truth

I FINALLY SAW ARK OF TRUTH!!!!!!!!!

And I enjoyed myself muchly. : )

Silly thing first: Cam/Chair > John/Chair
Sure John and his control chair make sweet, sweet love full of sighs and shivers, but Cam and his captain’s chair have angry, growly sex. Everyone knows that angry sex is hottest… *fans self* I need an icon.




I was very entertained by the movie, I need to watch it again without the headache this time. It was pretty, I don’t remember any dialog that made me want to puke, and the characters moved, grew, and came out the other side without a lot of emotional baggage. Just want I want in a fun sci-fi romp.

That said, I was left really unsatisfied with S10 finishing with Unending. I mean, it was a good episode, as far as that goes, but I really wish they would have ended with some kind of cliffhanger that catapulted us into Ark. How many times has SG-1 been saved by some mysterious artifact that we’ve never heard of before? I dunno, but I’m going to guess that’s a lot of fingers and toes.

The music was awesome. I really loved that because it was a ‘movie’ rather than a fast paced episode, they could take the time to stretch a few scenes and let the music carry the audience forward. And there were some epic shots in there, with movie quality effects that didn’t leave me rolling my eyes. Coop didn’t take any risks with the story, character, or method but it was okay.

Did anyone else notice just how blue everyone’s eyes were? I thought that shade wasn’t all that prevalent, so how does the entire cast have those gorgeous blue eyes? Course, give me a green eyed boy any day… ; )

Alas, I think that Daniel and Cameron had all of what? Ten minutes together in the entire movie? First in Landry’s office, then on the planet looking for the Ark, before what’s-his-face from the IOA decided to be an ass. That’s not a lot of time for illicit lovin’. Too bad.

There wasn’t a moment of Teal’c that wasn’t awesome.

Um, I love Daniel, and usually Michael is okay, but that scene in the cell with Morgan was oh so cheezy. I just kept thinking, wow, that Shanks is a ham.

Cam was adorable. During the fight scene, when he pulled his knife, I thought I might spontaneously combust. There was a good mix of humor, and body-slamming. He was so banged up in the end though! If Daniel couldn’t kiss it all better, than I guess it’s okay that Sam did. : )

Vala was pretty understated. I enjoyed her, even if I did get a little annoyed at her in the first five minutes she was on film.

Sam was…um…pretty? Yeah, that’s all I got.

I want to go back and watch it again tomorrow or the next day and maybe try for some Deep Thoughts TM. I also want to go back and read all the reviews I skipped because I didn’t want to be spoiled.




Fear me, I’ve got about 15,000 words on my J2 bigbang and I’m in some sort of sketching zone. Yeah, I’ll be inflicting my dismal to mediocre to passable drawing skills on y’all this weekend.
