last week in list form

we buried grandma. it was a weird funeral. mom wasn't going to buy any flowers until I insisted and it would have actually been depressing otherwise. she played Alan Jackson gospel things and we all finally lost it. I recouped by getting the director to play Reindeer Boogie which was the xmas song gma tortured us all with every year.

she's wasn't really a friend and she hasn't been a coworker since xmas when she escaped this hellhole, but I liked her, she was pretty, and she killed herself last tuesday

the last dog I loved, the one I raised for my old roommate couldn't breathe and the vet found a tumor on his heart and he had to be put down. I didn't get to pat his head one more time


I had a really good day going to the lake yesterday morning. It was perfect. Cool, still, quiet. I'm a little sore.

avoidant cat has started being more social. she comes out and sits with me and she lets the dog get a little closer than normal. idk what changed, if it was the addition of gma's little dog to our pack or what, but I'm so happy

Thank you! Some of the guys I still like at work were a lot closer to her and now I worry about them too. There's an awful lot of straw on one particular camel's back. We'll be okay though.

This isn't anywhere close to my favorite time of year, but I've never gotten over the fascination with enjoying cool water. Even if it's just washing my hands when it's hot. I'm going to try to spend a lot more time at the lake.
