There was so much good character stuff in the movie. So, is it fanservice if the action actually fits both characters and plot? Cause I felt like finally, they're giving me the interactions with the characters together based on the characterization they've shown in their individual movies. We all deserved that dang it.

Nebula -> I'm into it, she's completely won me over and I spent last night rewatching the Guardians movies just so I could pay more attention to her. The first movie was rough, she got a little shrieky, but the second is so solid and I want to watch her interact with EVERYBODY. The opening on the movie was perfect to set the tone. This is sad, Tony is in trouble, but he's also gonna teach her table top football and somehow they become friends while we are charmed but nervous wrecks. Rocket taking her hand pulled tear number one of uncounted for the movie from me. I'm okay that she didn't kill Thanos, I think she's grown so much she wouldn't have gotten the pleasure she thought she would from it. It needed to be done, and it was. Her and Rhodey were a good pair up, both a little beaten up but never defeated. Nebula and Gamora 2.0 is great and I hope that they get to really develop a relationship.

Natasha -> I mean, my bias up front, I hate Scarlet Johansson, but she/Natasha did a lot of good work here. I still don't buy her and Steve as besties, but her taking over as Charlie for her Angels was a good choice. I kinda can't believe she didn't go get Clint a lot earlier than five years in? Their friendship is one of the things that actually worked film to film. Nebula knew exactly what she was sending them into for the Soul Stone, and I wonder about that conversation. If she had to steer it around so it would be Natasha and Clint, because none of the others were close enough to each other for the sacrifice to count. The fight between her and Clint was heartbreaking, but still visually amazing. Not for me, but for the rest of y'all that are hurting, I do wish the boys could have done a "For Natasha" at the end, but I can also imagine it hurt too much.

Pepper -> I loved her here, I had the stray thought that she must have matured a lot in the five year jump which then led me to wonder how old she was supposed to be in Iron Man? I had just assumed she was the same age as Tony, so what 35ish? but really what if she was younger? She's clearly competent and good at what she does in the office setting, but other things get her out of her comfort zone. It probably makes more sense for her to have been 25ish maybe so brain not fully formed, power imbalance with her older boss. I've always hated how much she wanted Tony out of the suit, it didn't seem like something a couple should compromise on. Here she knows Tony, knows what he can't let go of, and at the end, she gives the best of herself. IDK, I was happy she put on the suit and Tony could get those last moments, but I'm still not invested in her as a character. (Though again bias, while she can act unlike ScarJo, Gwyenth is gross and borderline harmful in some of the stuff she peddles.)

Morgan -> OMG I can't quantify my love here. She is an adorable little girl, and I am all in for her becoming Rescue one day.

Gamora 2.0 -> I'm so glad she was still willing to break loose and trust Nebula. She didn't really get a lot to do here, so mostly I'm cringing in anticipation of the next Guardians movie. I mean, it worked in the original timeline. Gamora didn't have anyone else and Peter was the first to offer a hand, but that's not true now. She has a galaxy of opportunities in front of her now, and the idea that he's going to hound her all the way across it to get her to settle for him is enraging. (Bias - christian, repbulican Chris is the worst Chris.) I want Gamora to take over because Rocket, Peter and Thor sink straight to the lowest common denominator when they're together, and then do what she wants, a little good, a little bad, a bit of both.

Valkyrie -> I'm all in, yes please. Give her a movie and give us the Asgardians being awesome. From a young age, I've always picked the pegasus over unicorn in the debates. It feels good to be vindicated.

Caorl -> I still like her. The weird backflipping they had to do to only get her in the movie when her powers wouldn't end the movie were a little distracting, but okay. It must have been awkward to shoot this stuff, and then go back to actually get to know your character's origin story and personality. I thought they handled it well. I wish she'd gotten to get to know everyone a little better on screen, but we got so much good stuff that I don't know how they would have fit it in. She might not have needed the all girl cadre in her race with the gauntlet, but it was amazing to see, and I think Carol would have lifted them all up anyway. She doesn't need to have that loner vibe (NOTHING TO PROVE!), yeah give her a group, let them all be awesome together.

I'd love to see Hope in future Avengers movies, she was the best part of Antman and Wasp, and I loved her using "Cap" it was a nice nod.

Was May snapped away? I'm super excited for the new Spider-Man movie, especially since she's in on the secret identity. I think it'll be neat.

I loved seeing Frigga again. I love good moms, but she was also more than a mom here.

The ladies from Wakanda didn't get a lot to do, but they still ooze awesome, and it's for them I'm looking forward to the next Black Panther movie.

One line from Wanda, seems about right. I'll not be watching her Disney show.

I'm still over Tilda Swinton. Do not want.

On the whole, this was still a boys movie. Their pain, their action, but I think the future is looking real good for the ladies. Maybe teams with TWO whole women will become the new norm.

Gamora was a real win in this movie, she's come a long way as a character. Interesting how much she has in common with Loki as well. I like your idea of how she's going to become the de facto leader -- she proved it was her role to take in this film.

However I'm not sure she did know the specifics of the soul stone's price, just a suspicion based on Thanos' response, but he might have killed Gamora for various reasons.

Yes, I think that Pepper was always meant to be younger than Tony, and that both characters were meant to be younger than the actors actually were.

I don't know about May (or Ned or MJ for that matter). I'd like to think that she was, rather than realize Peter was gone.

And by Gamora, I'd meant Nebula...But yes, writing wise it makes perfect sense that these two were chosen. But otherwise that was quite the coincidence.

I, too, loved the women in this movie! They really got some good stuff, good lines, good arcs, good growth. NEBULA! She is and was so awesome, i was so pleased to see how much she got to do and grow. So amazing.

I loved Pepper being there in the fight, that was excellent. Ad, re: ages - they had Cap and Tony at Camp Leghigh in 1970, I think? Yes, '70. And Tony wasn't born yet, but on the way (probably born that year). Which would make him 49 in 'our' years, which frankly, sounds right. And I think Pepper is probably at most about five years younger than him, which also sounds right. Putting her at 25 in the first movie is a little to young, I think. But that's just me.

MCU is not good with ages in general. I see Tony as being impetuous and "Hey, someone that won't just Yes me, I need that." Allowing for the whole Billionaire incommensurate Power thing Tony has with most everyone, I can only accept a Tony that doesn't abuse it. So, yes he says things he shouldn't and doesn't lock doors like he should, but he's not chasing people or firing them for standing their ground. (Fantastic Four (2005) is right up to the edge of creepy with Johnny, and clearly it gets away with it because CE is so pretty.)

Based on Morgan, I'd say MCU believes Pepper is somewhat younger than the head canon I came up with.

Yeah, certain things haven't aged well, and that's a good thing.

I think Pepper has been very busy at times, and there's a certain amount of lost maturation when you are just trying to keep balls in the air.
