I can't even describe the relief I felt when I saw Biden decided to step aside today. I don't even begrudge the disturbance to my sleep schedule. The Biden campaign was trying to play prevent defense - trying not to lose - and it just doesn't work. Now we can go on offense. We go out to win. And we're gonna.

The number of donation and NEW donors from small dollar/grassroots types is amazing! And all the people signing up to volunteer just blows my mind. One of my favorite congress people Jeff Jackson is also reaping the benefits, and I'm excited for him and his race for NC attorney general. I'd love to see North Carolina flip!

That's a very good point about his campaign more and more playing to not lose. I was actually very content to vote for Biden come November, but was pleasantly surprised to find that I'm straight-up excited to vote for Kamala. :D

The stakes were too important for me to do anything but EVERYTHING I could/can to elect the democratic president, but I am much more happy to do so now. Kamala wasn't my choice four years ago, but she's absolutely grown into the moment.

You're right about the Biden campaign trying not to lose rather than fighting to win and I agree that stepping aside was the right move. I wish it had happened sooner, but hopefully there's enough time to get it together.

The voters that we'll desperately need to get aren't really paying attention yet, so I'm not as worried about the time. I can't unplug so it's gonna feel like an eternity to me anyway. : )

That said, I'm gonna go ahead put in my time off request for a few days during election week. Even if the counting isn't over that quickly, I'd rather be comfy in my sweats on my couch while I freak out.
