I love a good horror western, and the trailer for Prey looks excellent, the main character looks like a badass woman. I don't really care much about the Predator franchise, but I will absolutely give this a shot. The film features a cast comprised almost entirely of Native and First Nation’s talent, and will apparently be available to watch in the Comanche language.

while Prey isn't really my cuppa, I think it's freaking awesome that it's featuring mostly Native and First Nation’s talent, and that it'll be available in the Comanche language

I hear you! I think it's a hard R rating for violence/gore, but I'm so excited to try watching in Comanche language. I've got so many hearing quirks, I don't know if I'll make it through, but it's so cool to have the option.

How cool! I'm not much invested in that franchise, either, but i love to watch tv and movies from other countries, and always turn on the original language audio and english subs. Too cool!

I've run into some trouble watching body language in shows from other countries, but I don't think that'll be an issue here, so I'm excited to hear what it'll sound like.

I think like, big gestures and lots of emoting? So I would see that as over acting and I kind of roll my eyes, but I know it's a cultural thing. Or like how we smile at everyone for everything and think it's rude when someone meanmugs us, so in the shows I'm a little lost because as far as I can tell everyone is mad at everyone else?

So, I don't get it which leads me to not liking it which leads me to turning it off before I finish. Did I explain that in any way that makes sense. I know it's mostly a me problem because I haven't had the chance to get out there and experience much.

Huh, okay. Interesting. I get what you're saying, yes.

I like to hear the actor's actual voices speaking their native language because the emotion is there, the inflection and tone, and that really gets lost when something is dubbed. Plus, when their mouth isn't matching the words coming out, it really irritates me.

I guess....I find the different ways that people show (or don't show) emotion, or reactions, that are cultural things are one of the really interesting parts of non-US movies and tv shows, so all of that just ads to the experience for me.
