I am 17/40 on my reading goal, so goodreads tells me I'm behind by 4. Gotta get to reading! Though I still maintain that when I finally finish Promised Land it should count as 4.

Camille Baker's debut novel Have We Met? - 'A mysterious dating app determined to match Corinne with her soulmate proves impossible to ignore, even while she navigates career uncertainty in a new city and a surprising romance.'

I really enjoyed the main character, and the author's writing style. It's fun and easy to get through. I liked the is it/isn't it magical realism of a mercurial non-deleting app with excellent side-eye on some of her decisions. I kinda wish there'd been no explanation at the end, but it was okay. The reveal is never as good as you want it to be. I'd definitely check out another when she writes one.

Charlie Adhara's Cry Wolf Book 5 in the Big Bad Wolf series. - 'When he’s dragged to an event by his family, Cooper braces for an awkward evening, but instead finds himself in the middle of an ugly feud between Park’s ex and a rebel pack leader. What was supposed to be a quick outing turns into a full-blown murder investigation after the pack leader ends up dead, Park’s ex goes missing, and Cooper and Park are sent a series of disturbing wedding gifts that are somehow connected to it all.'

I started this in Jan and the beginning didn't really click, and also I didn't want to finish it, because then it would be done? but once I opened it back up and actually got into the mystery I was all in and finished the last half in one sitting. This is not your normal tropes for werewolves and the world building is getting deep and really interesting. The set-up for the next book is getting big and awesome. The mystery in this one didn't feel as solvable by the reader as some of the others in the series, but I definitely called a few of the suspects right and I always feel good for me and the author when that happens!

Are we friends on goodreads? (are you on goodreads?) A lot of ppls are there with different names and I'm never sure who's who. I love the Charlie Adhara world-building, I think I'd read pretty much anything set in it.
