Likes: - sarcasm, magical realism, found families, grouchy affection, first times, secrets, soulmate/soulbond, crack treated seriously (ala Brooklyn 99), humor, angst, sharing a bed, accidental bond, pretend dating, pining, lots of dialog, relationship issues (near infidelity, actual infidelity, poor communication, getting back together but it's not easy), belligerent sexual tension, unexpected tenderness
- sex related: laughing together during sex, intimacy, touch-starved, rough sex, the choosing part when a character agrees to be vulnerable, first times, safeword use (whether the character gets comforted and they continue or they stop), roleplay, dub-con (a lot of very dubby-con), bareback
- h/c related: I like characters being smart, resilient, and capable even when they are badly hurting, and I would really rather not see their troubles reduce them to a childlike state or near-catatonia. stolen from
coaltide
Dislikes: 1st/2nd person point of view, realistic or detailed pregnancy (I like when fic is focused on the emotion and the future building or somebody just happens to be pregnant while the fic is about something completely different), everyone in the group is tidily paired off in relationships, unrelenting fluff, mundane AUs without at least a hint of magic
I love Sam Wilson. And for reasons, he loves Bucky Barnes. I'd appreciate anything that shows Sam being awesome, complex, and a real human being with pros and cons. I like when they clearly and desperately want to be together but it's not the easiest thing and they still choose to do the work. Bucky doesn't need to be a sad little woobie, I like when he's sarcastic, a little confused, and so in love with Sam Wilson. I like when the fic acknowledges the larger world, from citizens to other superheroes, things that might have only happened in the comics or other movies/tv shows, politics, and pop culture.
I love fusions, but feel free to leave any of the other fandoms characters in place if you need to. Fic doesn't need to follow the main storyline of the other fandom, I picked these because I appreciate the world building involved and you can put Sam/Bucky anywhere inside it as long as they're the stars of the fic.
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier - Sam/Bucky fusion and TFATWS prompts!
This is my it's a-ok to take the characters and dump them somewhere else requests. I mean, it's totally okay to leave them in the MCU to make the fusion work too. Whatever you want, basically! I'm super easy, and please feel free to add in any of the other characters from the MCU, don't think you have to stick to just characters from this show.
ST:VOY - I liked best that they were so far from home and only had each other to rely on, and how even so far away they stuck to their principles of exploration and helping others. I am forever and always up for some holodeck shenanigans if you want to make one of the boys a character from a holonovel who gains sentience like in Fair Haven.
Mercy Thompson - so this is the werewolves, vampires, and fae request. I like the pack structure, but also like that in the books they're willing to buck tradition to make it work fairly. I like the how it works with Alphas and the sliding scale of dominance, and having omegas outside the structure and not beholden to anyone. I dig the vampires old enough to have "Cher" names and powers. I like the Fae and the rules they have to follow. I'm enjoying the politics of revealing the existence of wolves and fae to the humans. Feel free to use any group for any character.
Bioshock - I love the original game in Rapture and Infinite in Columbia, though I might have a slight preference for Infinite for these two. The game isn't the best when it comes to answering the questions it poses about race and economic status, so there is definitely some room in there to explore. I'd love if you kept the video game mechanics with the looting, health bar, shield, and vigors. This one could lean on the forbidden romance aspect, or let them be soldiers in the Vox Populi. Maybe they're able to escape at the end through one of Elizabeth's portals? In Rapture, maybe Bucky was made into a Big Daddy against his will and Sam it trying to rescue him. If they happen to adopt a little sister or two, I would not be unhappy.
Cube - This was a horror movie in which a bunch of strangers wake up in a square room with escape hatches on every wall, floor, and ceiling. They eventually figure out it's one part of a giant cube filled with death traps and they only have a certain amount of time to get out. So you have the traps which are just diabolical, but you also have the human element of the grind, the heat, the fear, and the paranoia because they each have a secret. They each at some point helped design or create part of their current torture. This is a big plot, so don't feel like you'd have to cram it all in there. Maybe a room or two, showing them working together or wierd sci-fi/horror bits of their journey. Maybe what happens afterward?
Southern Reach - Is the book series the movie Annihilation is based on. I'm okay with either book or movie. I could see Sam taking the place of the biologist, always more at peace in the sky or dealing with birds. I like the dream-like qualities of this horror/alien/survival scape. What if Bucky was a form of the lighthouse keeper and instead it's some kind of scary fairytale? Or like in the movie Bucky goes in first, and Sam goes in after to save him. Maybe Bucky hasn't transformed, or they transform together into some kind of symbiosis. I just like how weird it is and how it plays with the sense of self and that strange wilderness.
Hell's Kitchen - I love Gordan Ramsey and if you want to keep him in the fusion, that's cool with me. This whole show is such a trip, they basically torture these contestants with crazy challenges and dinner services, and cameras on them everywhere. What if they start out a little antagonist with different cooking styles/specialties or a challenge has them tied together so they have to cooperate? If it gets that far, IDK, let Sam win please?
Once Upon A Time - Play with the wolf/falcon imagery, or pick any other characters you want them to be. I liked the idea of True Love's kiss, but feel free to mess with that trope. I also liked going back and forth between a cursed Storybrook where they don't remember how important they are to each other and the Enchanted Forest where they do, but maybe it still isn't easy what with the Evil Queen and Rumpelstiltskin's shenanigans.
The Good Place - The first season is my favorite where whatever four characters you pick are trying to figure out what's going on and why things are so stressful in the afterlife. The idea of soulmates and how they played with it in the resets in season two were hilarious. I could see Bucky being the disaster ala Elenor, and like I have this picture of Tony being Janet and how off the rails he'd go on his journey from not-a-boy to fully realized. I just liked how the show went from comedy to angst in bare moments.
Westworld - I watched the first season a million years ago and really enjoyed it. So y'know, I don't actually remember much of the plot, I just like the western setting, and the idea that one or both of them are robots programed to do the same things on repeat until something wakes them and then there are no rules.
The Magnus Archives - They could work at the Archive or they could come in to make a statement. Maybe one becomes the Avatar of a dominion and has an unhealthy fixation on the other, or they're both stuck together being tortured forever. As dark as you want to go with this one. The Dark and Extinction are my favorites, but I think Bucky and Sam might be caught among the Vast, Buried, and Slaughter.
Star Wars - There's a lot to this universe so feel free to use any aspect or era that you're into. I could see Steve and Sam in the Rebellion, maybe rescuing Bucky from a new brainwashing program in the Empire? I also really enjoyed the clone wars cartoon, I immediately wanted Bucky to be a clone assigned to Jedi!Sam's ship. Or they're bounty hunters and they pick up a child they're supposed to deliver to the Empire.
Mass Effect - Cerberus was trying to make super soldiers since the first game, and I like the idea of putting together an odd ball crew to save the day. You don't need to go big into the Reapers unless you want to. Andromeda is also on the table, except I am not interested in the Kett at all. The Krogan and the Salarians are my favorite aliens, and the different soldier/biotic/tech configurations add some depth.
City of Angels - This Nicolas Cage/Meg Ryan movie always makes me cry, so go ahead and do your worst. Or if you're not a monster, give them a happy ending instead of that travesty. I like the comradery of the angels and how they choose to fall. Why would one of these boys choose to give up eternity for the other and how would they figure out the culture differences of mortal/former-immortal?
The Purge - I just watched the Forever Purge, so feel free to use it or any of the movies. I'm not into the violence so much as the politics and the economic issues that played into the New Founding Father's hands. Maybe Sam is the politician or community organizer hoping to turn things around and Bucky has decided to protect him and fight for a better future. Or maybe Bucky has just lost all hope and decided to use Purge Night to get a little vengeance of his own until he finds Sam running for his life and they figure things out together. Maybe they're still superheroes and have to toe a certain line until they find they can't stomach it anymore.
Valdemar - Listen if you make them Heralds and give them the sassiest Companions of Steve and Tony, I am already sold. Or make them gryphons or mercenaries. I read through 2003's Exile's Honors, so I'd definitely be fine with any of the previous books. I like the mind gifts and how they don't automatically make everything easier. Everyone has to sacrifice so much for the greater good, but sometimes they end up with something worthwhile.
Marching Band - I made noises when I saw this prompt. I'm thinking college age AU. If you want to make my day, let one of them play trombone. Maybe they're in rival service organizations, or both going after the same solo. Maybe somehow they miss the bus and have to make their own way to the Bowl game, but when they get there, there's only one bed left?!? Anywhere but Alabama or Texas A&M, please.
I think I'd like these prompts to work in the world that The Falcon and the Winter Soldier created, but feel free to prove me wrong! I loved seeing Sam's family and I'd love if Sarah and the kids were involved, but still had their own lives and stuff going on. I liked Karli, but she was wrong at the end. Violence like she planned is not the answer. Walker on the other hand got his redemption way to easy, and I think they missed the chance to take him to the brink of the darkest place and then see what he'd do.
The non MCU prompts mostly seemed like fun what ifs that I'd like to see explored.
ALL: Anytime A Character Orgasms They Have A 50 Percent Chance Of Changing Gender - Prompt seems like crack, but if it's just a face of life, they'd figure out how to deal with it and which gender they'd like to spend the most time as. Maybe one of the boys is still very gay and they have some problems dealing when their partner does change, but it's worth it to do whatever it takes to be together. Lots of gender!fuckery possible here. Have fun.
ALL: Being in a time loop together leads to getting together I love time loops, from epic saving the world trials to real humdrum seeming scenarios. Maybe they don't start out together and it takes some time to meet up and realize they're both stuck? Or they keep waking up from an accidental nap together, knee jerk 'no homo' and it takes some loops for them to just deal with their feelings.
ALL: Characters are soulbonded to psychic wolves here is a primer if you're unfamiliar with what I first thought of. The wolves use scent names for humans, which I love. There is still a pack structure based on the wolves' dominance, led by the smartest, toughest female. When she goes into heat the male wolves jockey for position to father her pups. This leads everyone bonded to those male wolves to fuck the person mated to the female wolf. Feel free to have the Avengers still be together so there are several optional pairings but Sam and Bucky end up together, or have it just be the two of them dealing with what could be an awkward situation because they love their bondwolves and want the best for them.
ALL: Daemon AU - any animals are fair game, but I always like the idea that some animals are looked down on by society and how that changes when you get to know someone. So maybe nuisance animals like racoons or something people have been scared of like bats. I like the vulnerability and trust that comes with touching someone else's daemon. I don't mind handwaving some of the more difficult to deal with aspects like how Sam would fly so high and fast with a daemon that wasn't small enough to carry easily/safely. Maybe when they need to daemons can turn to dust and ride inside their human.
ALL: If you owe someone a life debt their name appears on your skin - I was thinking about Bucky and his book with this one. They didn't do the greatest job on the show dealing with the idea of victimhood, guilt, and making amends. It would be interesting to see the names etched on peoples' skins, and I like the idea that you could erase them through actions.
ALL: Muppets exist - I was probably the only person in the world to like The Happytime Murders and that's kind of what I was thinking here. Walker as a muppet would just be hilarious. Maybe Sam and Bucky are both muppets, or just one is temporarily turned into one? I think the difference in physiology and dealing with emotions between humans and muppets is interesting and rife with the ability to say things you might otherwise not. Sugar. So much sugar.
ALL: Person Mistaken For Mail-Order Spouse and Goes With It (in Canon 'Verse) IDK which one would need a quickie marriage but the idea of sudden, forced intimacy is what I like. Maybe they did fill out a questionnaire about what they were looking for in a partner but a virus ate it and that's not what they got and they have to make the best of it. Maybe Bucky needs a partner for his pardon but has given up on actually putting himself out there and finding someone who's not scared of him. Maybe Sam needs to be married to get that bank loan and show that he is a stable functioning adult?
All: Worldwide Mass Magic Event Causes All Humans To Transform Into Assorted Mythical Creatures - Get your mermaid, centaur, gargoyle, Fae, and anything else on! Maybe Wanda did something weird? Or maybe nobody knows why, but everyone has to deal for a little bit. Do they miss it when it's gone? Do some people keep the ability to go back and forth, and is that a good thing?
MCU: Bucky is not completely deprogrammed from being the Winter Soldier - Maybe Madripoor gets a little too real, and Sam has to figure some way (sex? or actual emotional connection where Sam opens up about his feelings about Cap, and Walker, and his family?) to snap Bucky out of it. Maybe it's not a full on Winter Soldier event, but some trigger words make him do/become other things?
MCU: Bucky is pregnant when he escapes from Hydra - No detailed/realistic pregnancy please. Bucky wants the baby and wants to be safe, and I like the idea that he formed some sort of instant imprint on Sam from the bridge/helicarrier scenes. Like Steve is Too Much, but Sam likes Steve and is fighting Hydra so he must be good. Sam probably hadn't planned for a pregnant assassin, but now that it's happening he's sorta into it. Or, Bucky stashed the baby somewhere, but now the teenager(? or maybe they were also snapped) has found him and also moves himself into the house at Delacroix causing all sorts of mayhem.
MCU: Sam can talk to birds - This is it. : )
MCU: Karli didn't die in TFATWS
MCU: Sam figures out Sharon is the Power Broker during TFATWS - I feel like these two could go together real easy (though they don't have to). If Karli doesn't die, she still has to stand trial and do her time for killing those people in the bombing, but she could also want to make her own amends helping Sam take down the Power Broker. I like Sharon, and I'd like her to be smart and badass and with slightly better motivation than the show gave her. But when she killed(?) that guy in the van with chemical weapons (for no good reason) Sam should have shut her down. Is Bucky jealous now that Sam's getting close to someone else with similar issues even if it doesn't make sense because she's a kid and he knows Sam's interested in him even if they've been too busy to do anything about it. Does Zemo come back into the picture to get his ownsecond to manyith chance?
Lance is the ultimate like fantasy mean boy, but dealing with him in real life is the worst. Feel free to leave Bucky completely out of these, make them not be lookalikes, or whatever you'd like. I mean Lance is an asshole turned up to eleven, and this is not so much enemies to lovers as it is enemies to enemies who fuck and maybe occasionally Lance shows an actual human emotion, and Sam can't help but hope for the best in people.
Crossover - Sam Wilson (MCU)/Lance Tucker (The Bronze)
All: Arranged marriage to prevent extradition or incarceration
ALL: Mail Order Spouse AU
ALL: Marrying To Keep Legal Custody Of Convict Out Of Hostile Hands - Similar prompts. I like the idea of Lance being a Mutant (with powers that have nothing to do with gymnastics) and being outed after his terrible Olympic choices (pls ignore the end where he knocks up his teenage protégé), so he calls up his old pal/college roommate/whatever Sam for help. Or Sam ends up with him after Civil War, where he needs a sponsor to get back into the U.S. Basically it's forced proximity/intimacy and I will eat it up!
ALL: Mr & Mrs Smith AU
ALL: Spies & Secret Agents- Maybe Lance works for the Power Broker or Chaos, and they don't know they're working opposition to each other at first. Or maybe they each think they honeypotted the other? It doesn't have to make the most sense. One of them could be the handler for the other and their comms are constantly being turned over to the boss for unprofessionalism.
ALL: Stormchaser AU - Like the movie Twister if Bill Paxton had hate sex with Cary Elwes instead of make up sex with Helen Hunt. I love disaster movies and the suspense that comes with a rolling storm. They probably have to hug for protection at some point, and one of them is probably incredibly touch starved, that's all I'm saying.
ALL: Striking Vipers (Black Mirror) AU - I liked the episode but I don't know that following exactly will work here. Feel free to leave Sam single instead of having a family he cheats on, and maybe he doesn't know Lance before they start hooking up in the game. In game, gender doesn't matter to me, but when they meet I think it'd be interesting if the sexual chemistry was still there, but now they actually have to deal with each others' personalities. Virtual identities vs what you're comfortable showing in real life.
ALL: Witness Protection - Again with the forced proximity. It doesn't have to be witness protection exactly. Maybe Sam as Falcon has to protect Lance for reasons. What if during that Lance actually manages to save Sam once or twice and Sam thinks you know, maybe . . . before Lance opens his mouth again and ruins it.
I haven't watched SGA is so long, but this pairing came around in a rec list, and I really loved it this time around. I think my favorite Rodney is an elevated canon Rodney where sure he's annoyingly narcissistic but he still understands some social cues and isn't consumed with nerdy and/or Canadian things. Ronon is still smart, is still willing to go out of his way to fit into somebody else's idea of culture, but I'm sure that makes him all the more responsive when one of the earthlings is willing to meet him on his own terms.
I always liked the idea of SGA being like Voyager, stranded far from home and having to figure out as they go along which is more important to them, survival or holding up their ideals. On the other hand I was very pleased when Woolsey showed up to lead the city. I love that actor, and I thought the character had the possibility to shake things up for characters too willing to go off script to fulfill their missions.
Stargate Atlantis - Rodney McKay/Ronon Dex
ALL: Everyone wakes up amnesiac on a spaceship - One way to get around an antagonistic first meeting and antagonistic personalities. Comedic gold here, or angsty life and death situations.
ALL: Horizon Zero Dawn AU - I really like this game, the lore, the tech surrounding the tribes, the tribes who barely get along. I love the robot dinosaurs et al. You know Rodney's made a pet out of one while Ronon is one of the most feared hunters (exiled?) in the region. Or maybe Rodney runs a hunting lodge because his people skills make it difficult to live in the tribe, and Ronon showed up occasionally until it became a regular thing and they end up wintering together?
ALL: one character gets three wishes - The Monkey's Paw is one of my favorite horror tropes. Rodney would make terrible wishes until he realizes he just wants someone to come home to at night, and look at that, Ronon's right there. Then the wishes go bad, and he figures out how to take it all back, but now he knows what he's missing and has to do it all on his own if he wants to win Ronon back.
ALL: Prison AU- I love prison AUs, how rough everything is, and how the rules are different than normal life. I'd love it if Rodney was the one who'd been inside longer and ran his corner, and ended up taking Ronon in. I loved HBO's Oz series, so any fusion/crossover with that would be great. Or make it more Orange is the New Black!
All: Queer-Eye-style makeover for/by requested character(s)- I love the new Queer Eye team, and I don't even need any actual plot to make this happen. Jonathan and Karamo would have the most work on Rodney, and he would resist all their hugs until the point he gives in and melts. Maybe Atlantis is a popular science retreat spot for Earth and their trying to do some good press after An Incident?
ALL: Secret Relationship Is Publicly Revealed After Characters Already Broke Up- Relationship issues are something I'm fascinated with. Maybe they broke up because one of them didn't want to go public, then somehow that relationship is revealed and they have to deal with the fallout. Or there is no fall out. How do they get back into a trusted relationship? What baggage are they carrying and how do they hurt each other without even trying?
ALL: Soulbond - Formed To Save Condemned Prisoner from the Gallows- Because I'm a broken record, here's some forced proximity and intimacy! Either one honestly could be the one to offend the locals or touch some tech they shouldn't have, and they have to react fast. The soulbond comes as a surprise. How does it affect them. How far does Sheppard run away from the idea of one person knowing another that well?
SGA: They never make contact with Earth- Just because I like it. How does the Atlantis expedition meld together and how does this change the way the react to the Pegasus Galaxy? Feel free to move their timeline up so it matches 2021 and today's pop-culture and politics to complicate things.
These two are so messed up and co-dependent, and I love them. Kay tried to give the life up and ended up working with the aliens in the post office. Jay has been fated since that day on the beach when his dad died to work with the MiB. I really enjoyed the third movie, because Jay doesn't even think twice (mostly) bout jumping off that building to go save Kay. I like the tech and how weird everything is and can be. Don't get me wrong, I like Tommy Lee Jones!Kay, but maybe he gets zapped with something that rolls the years back?
Men In Black - Agent Jay/Agent Kay and/or Young Agent Kay

Jay has been fated since that day on the beach when his dad died to work with the MiB. Don't get me wrong, I like Tommy Lee Jones!Kay, but maybe he gets zapped with something that rolls the years back?
ALL: Time Travel in the Past Results In Accidentally Gaining Spouse & Child In The Present - So many options for time travel screw-ups, and it doesn't have to be related to the third movie. What if it's Kay this time? He's so grumpy but also so competent he would slide right in and Jay would take forever to figure out something was weird. Or maybe he wouldn't being equally painfully competent, and hypervigilant about baby Jake (it had a J and K, sue me) touching something he shouldn't.
ALL: Accidentally and Permanently Time Travels Back in Time; Changes the Course of the Future - Same as the above, sans baby?
All: time loop can only get broken by kissing love interest/confessing their feelings - They are so emotionally constipated, it would take them forever to get to the kissing point. Or Jay would lose his mind quicker and do it just because.
ALL: Everyone wakes up amnesiac on a spaceship - Like with SGA, here the chance to throw away the baggage and see how the characters interact without a preexisting dynamic. Aliens, man. Aliens. When/if they get their memories back, how do they react to what happened?
ALL: Muppets exist - IDK, I thought it would be fun again. I was probably the only person in the world to like The Happytime Murders and that's kind of what I was thinking here. Maybe Jay or Kay is temporarily turned into one and has to deal with the difference in physiology and dealing with emotions between humans and muppets. Maybe it's an alien race that looks/acts like our muppets and have the ability to convert other species and are trying to take over the world?
All: Zombie Apocalypse - Fast zombies or slow zombies. Beginning or end of the apocalypse. Maybe they've created a little pocket of peace, or maybe one of them have been bitten and it's just a matter of time now.
- sex related: laughing together during sex, intimacy, touch-starved, rough sex, the choosing part when a character agrees to be vulnerable, first times, safeword use (whether the character gets comforted and they continue or they stop), roleplay, dub-con (a lot of very dubby-con), bareback
- h/c related: I like characters being smart, resilient, and capable even when they are badly hurting, and I would really rather not see their troubles reduce them to a childlike state or near-catatonia. stolen from

Does Zemo come back into the picture to get his own
Lance is the ultimate like fantasy mean boy, but dealing with him in real life is the worst.
