but who am I lately?

Challenge #1: In your own space, introduce yourself!
Howdy! I usually enjoy Snowflake, so we'll see how this year goes. Of course, seeing how this year goes is pretty much my default for most questions I pose lately. Should I focus on selling my house and moving somewhere better -> distinct seasons, better government, more stuff to do? who knows. Should I let my doctor put me on a new medication? I'm guessing no, but still, what fresh horrors will this March bring?
But, most importantly, back to me. I need a haircut, and to dye my gray hair. My glasses are great, one lens is for near sightedness and the other is for far sightedness, so one eye always looks bigger than the other. My favorite hoodie is gray and orange. I have a big dog and a little dog, a friendly cat and a slightly feral cat. I hate my very secure, well paying, shift work job, but I'm good at it and every once or a while I get to help someone.
I'm currently watching season two of Star Trek Discovery for the first time and enjoying it. I really liked Bridgerton and Mandalorian which I just watched last week. Not a fan of WW84. I'm so excited for Falcon and Winter Soldier. I listen to Pod Save America and several other Crooked podcasts. I'm excited to finish up The Magnus Archives.
While I'm watching these weirdos, I'm doing a jigsaw puzzle: Dragon Age: Cast of Thousands

Date: 2021-01-04 01:28 am (UTC)A year and a half ago, I decided to quit dyeing my hair, and got it cut. Now it's my 'natural' color, which is very grey, but it looks blonde in some lights? Very weird. But glad that was one less thing I had to worry about maintaining during lockdown.
Now cutting it on the other hand . . . Best not to speak of that.

Date: 2021-01-04 03:20 am (UTC)Oh yeah, I just wolfed out this year. Shave my legs? Naw nobody better be that close! : ) I think I want something fun though. Like, it's just time to have fun, so I think I might try for a red color. My gray, is the super shiny kind, so they come through looking like highlights on any mundane box color. I want some weird shiny copper streaks.
I like your travel poster icons!

Date: 2021-01-04 04:08 pm (UTC)What types of dog are they, your two? I have a terrier-cross and a beagle, affectionately referred to as Pinky and the Brain online, because the rhyme fits - as it turns out, one is a genius and the other is insane.

Date: 2021-01-04 08:48 pm (UTC)So Dasher is 3/4 German Shepherd and 1/4 Husky. His hair is so soft and his tail is curled and luxurious (when it isn't filled with stickers - owie), and only one of his ears stands up. Pepper is a Rat Terrier/Chihuahua mix that I inherited when my grandma passed away over the summer. Watching her go from terrified old lady lap dog to an adventurous, likes being outside, guard dog who will actually let people pet her has been awesome.
They're both dummies and the cats too. No geniuses in this house!

Date: 2021-01-05 03:59 pm (UTC)Ack! I mean, I remember that well from my childhood (programming the VCR religiously every week to record my favourite shows, and then labelling them all with 'do not tape over - this means you, dad!'). But I live in the streaming age of immediate content now. I'm not sure I'm ready to go back! That said, I keep seeing promotional pictures that make me think I won't be able to wait...
Aw, he's gorgeous. I love his quirky flopped ear! And there's nothing better than taking in a dog and watching them flourish; Pinky was very indifferent to humans when we got him, I think his previous owner had found him annoying as hell (which, okay, justified; he does have some issues) and threw him out of the house a lot to roam. Watching him learn that people aren't just useless lumps to be ignored has been a delight - he freaking adores people now!
We can't have cats *laughs* Pinky thinks they're okay, but Brain feels that cats are for hunting and eating, and will not be dissuaded of this.

Date: 2021-01-04 08:59 pm (UTC)I want to like Star Wars so much, but the movies seem so wide and shallow, never really digging into what anything means. I couldn't get into the cartoons either, I honestly don't want Jedi. So the Mandalorian is SUCH a breath of fresh air I've been longing for.
I mean, there were some good parts of WW84, but I definitely don't 'get it' whatever it was they were trying to do with it. It another example of not answering their own questions they raised.
I'm just so excited about all the new Sam Wilson content! New uniforms, snazzy dress suits, so many henleys! This is the one place I do accept shallow content!

Date: 2021-01-04 05:54 pm (UTC)Same! *flails* I have yet to see s2 of The Mandalorian, but I hope to rectify that soon. And I'm so bummed at the stuff I'm hearing about WW84. I was so looking forward to that movie.
Pod Save America sounds amazing! I've been looking for more things to listen to on my walks (I currently listen to the various programming on my local NPR station).
I saw your comment above about shiny gray hair and I have to thank my grandmother for the fact that my hair is still (mostly) a light brown. I do have some grey hairs interspersed throughout that look like silver tinsel. They glow in certain lights and I'm like, there's no pretending they aren't there. *g*

Date: 2021-01-04 09:30 pm (UTC)Pod Save America will keep up you to date on political fuckery with a very stated Liberal bias sense of humor. I like the candid discussion and then they get someone very smart for the interview and a good time is had by all.
I am honestly fond of my shiny hair. I just kinda wish it was slightly more controllable. : )

Date: 2021-01-04 09:59 pm (UTC)Darn re WW84.
I started listening to the most recent ep on a walk this afternoon. I feel like this will be right up my alley.
I feel a bit like a Christmas tree, which isn't all bad. *g*
