Dasher is six months now. We drove the five hours to visit my mom, and he is a very pleasant car companion.
He loves people which I'm real happy for, except when he tries to greet people while were out on the path trying to do my couch to 5k
He really loves playing with other dogs, but it takes a time or two with the same dog to get his confidence up. He is ridiculously slow chasing those small dogs around the park. He's definitely bringing dishonor on our house. He still hangs out in a circle to wherever I'm standing and anytime he gets overwhelmed he makes a mad dash (though still in slow motion) to squeeze between my legs. He's still small enough it's not a big deal, but I'm learning to live with the bruises on my shins when he misses or the other dogs don't stop fast enough.
13 is still unhappy that he's here, and it's past getting on my last nerve. She was a feral kitten who got separated from her momma way too early. So while she likes me a lot, she disappears with other humans, she won't play or cuddle with Gray even though I adopted them together and before I got Dasher she was stressing Gray out so much Gray started over grooming. Gray's a lot better now, a combo of that she likes the dog and he's entertaining to watch and the fact that when Dasher is in the house 13 is a lot louder and easier to avoid. I don't know what to do with them. 13 got to the point where she was more confident with Shipley (the adult german shepherd who i dogsat sometimes), but he was old and didn't try to make friends with her.
I guess 3/4s of a happy household is nothing to sniff at.
