SPN 4.05 episode review

Okay, so far this season is definitely giving S1 a run for it's money to by my favorite.
A. I love B&W movies and how over-the-top everything used to be - the acting, effects, plot and the music. I was so excited for this episode and it didn't disappoint!
B. Dean's idea of the good old days as monster hunting continues to make me want to hug him, squeeze him and make him pie. I enjoyed the impala scene, it set the tone awesomely.
C. Jamie is awesome. She's my favorite female guest star from the whole series, I think. It's amazing how they finally wrote an excellent character who was relevant to the plot and well acted. Also, she has a series of moles on her chest, and that is way hot. I'm very shallow.
D. "I'm a maverick, ma'am – a rebel with a badge. The one thing I don't play by? The Rules." *wink* Anybody else flash to McCain trying this line? Just me then? Okay.
E. I don't how Jared and Jensen kept a straight face through Ed's interview. I can't even watch it without tears.
F. Also, I'm very glad I wrote Dean enjoying an Oktoberfest. If any of y'all have never been to one, then you are sadly, sadly missing out! "Beer and bar wenches!" I've always wanted heaven to be like Oktoberfest, I hope Dean gets one in his afterlife.
G. Okay, Dean's virginity spiel is the most hilarious thing ever. Whoever came up with re-hymnated deserves a freaking gold star. I wondered where the virgin fic was, but thought maybe descended!Daniel virgin fic had spoiled me.
H. "And the dude will not abide." And I love how well Sam takes the whole thing with vague disbelief, amusement, and finally that 'whatcha-gonna-do?' face. That's like, best friend territory there, not just brothers who are pretty close.
I. Geeze, the two kids in the car! That guy maybe didn't deserve to be eaten by the wolfman, but he definitely deserved a series of vicious kicks to his family jewels. What a jerk.
J. I love me some dorky Dean, and you know Sam would let him wander around the entire evening with foam on his lip.
K. I loved the misdirect with Jamie walking alone, hearing the wings, and they turning around to find Dracula. Makes it all the better when he rides away on the scooter.
L. Intermission.
M. "No, the X-Files is a TV show – this is real." Jamie should have walloped him one for that one.
N. I know there was this whole serious scene with a bunch of exposition, but honestly, I'm checking out Dean wearing his loose tie, because - hot!
O. I wish I had more in-depth thinky thoughts about the whole fighting evil thing as a burden or a mission. I'm sure there's all sorts of text and research that's been done about the mytharcs and circumstances that create the dividing line. I think that'd be incredibly interesting to get into, if I only had the time.
P. When Dean's talking about his life and saving people, I really hope he's telling the truth and not just setting Jamie up for a line. He doesn't really have anything besides hunting, and I still remember (I think it was Croatoan?) when he's ready to give up and he says something like "I'm tired, Sam." as one of his heartbreaking moments.
Q. Kisses! And okay, I know that most of us only want Dean to kiss a) Sam or b) us but I can't help but see the hot there. Especially since he actually seems to treat her nice except for letting his sarcasm get the best of him a couple of times.
R. Creepy dude playing the cassio is creepy! Oh Sam! I love his 'oops' face. He's just adorable.
S. Drugged Dean and Jamie are so adorable together. And wobbly Dean really makes me sit up and take notice.
T. Dean vs Dracula round two could not have been any more awesome. The bragging, Dean's struggle, and Drac's slow reach to the switch only to be interrupted by the doorbell! This is my favorite kind of campy humor.
U. Pizza guy FTW! Seriously, every time I think this ep can't get more hilarious it tops itself (but not in the kinky way).
V. Once again, Jamie is really beautiful in that dress. I liked the Shifter's reveal, we almost feel sorry for the poor guy if he wasn't so pumpkin-pie eyed crazy SOB. He's kinda like the ultimate fanboy.
W. Seriously, if I were Sam I would have taunted Dean a lot harder about the costume change. And how awesome was him kicking down the prop door? You know Dean wished he would have done it just to look that much more awesome.
X. Atta girl Jamie! She's gorgeous and strong enough to pick up and fire the gun. I don't really want to see her come back on the series, but I wouldn't mind reading fic with her in it.
Y. I know that I wasn't the only one hoping for a close up of Dean's bared knees, and the only glimpse we get is covered by the CW logo! This might be my only complaint for the entire episode.
Z. More kisses! But I love how we only get the happy ending romantic music up sweep when it was Sam and Dean at the end and Sam proves his love by knowing Dean better than any random girl ever will. I think it proves that the major love story will always be Sam and Dean no matter who's sleeping with anyone with a pulse, and who's just sleeping with anyone.
I loved the music and sound effects throught the episode, I'm so glad that they held this ep for this slot and really put in the effort to make it work. Seriously, at this rate, we really will get a musical next season. : )

No Ruby was a bonus, shame Cas wasn't in it though. I've finally warmed to Casitel and don't mind a little Cas/Dean :P
Hansal!Dean was also a bonus
