I did my first uber yesterday. . . because my car refused to start yesterday morning. I'd been running around town looking for marigolds and sushi, thankfully not having luck with either, and it gave up in the parking lot of grocery store #2. It sometimes would take it a min to turn over, from either hot or cold, but it's never not started before. I went back at midnight to see if it would start once it was cool, but no dice. Now I'll have to have it towed to the dealership this morning, where I have an appointment with their service department for tomorrow morning.

*facepalm*

I'm just going to uber around today, it was about 6bucks to get home yesterday, so maybe 18bucks to go to the grocery store, hitch a ride with the wrecker to the dealership (if I need to), ride back home, and then go to work tonight. Tomorrow, I'll see if I can get a ride out to the dealership, hang around and make sad faces while they try to fix my car. If they can't fix my car, then I have to start making the scary decisions.

I've never actually bought a car before. Someone in the family always had something they'd pass on for a good price. I did buy the behemoth, but I didn't choose it. I didn't have to try to make sure it was in good shape. And since it was family, the repayment plan was awfully flexible.

So, if anybody has any I WISH I KNEW THEN WHAT I KNOW NOW tips to give on buying a used car or renting one for short term, I would be ecstatic to receive them.
