Movie reviews: Twilight + Friday the 13th
Jul. 9th, 2009 10:29 amTwilight: It's a comedy, right? My friend and I just laughed and laughed through the entire movie. At first, it took us a while to understand that it wasn't a horror movie. I kept turning to her to point out all the creepiness until I finally understood. What I thought was creepy was actually supposed to be romantic! All the stalking, being mean to each other, inappropriate behavior and so on was supposed to prove how perfect they were for each other. Obviously.
Not my cup of tea, but I'm clearly not the target audience anyway. However, I suppose it did what it was supposed to, because as much as I thought it was a train wreck, I kinda want to see the next train wreck too. I bet it'll be even more funny. : )
Friday the 13th: Jared Padalecki is an attractive and talented man. However, I was less than impressed with whoever edited the movie. So Jared's hair is probably hard to tame at the best of times, but I really had to draw the line at his amazing self-propelled backpack. It seemed like on every cut between it was someplace different. It's on his shoulder! He's carrying it in front of him! It's on his shoulder! It's on the ground by his bike! He's putting it on his shoulder! Wait, it's on his other shoulder! : )
Despite my love of horror movies, I've never liked the Friday the 13th series so I wasn't expecting much. Stupid, naked teenagers get murdered in horrible ways. Clay looking for his sister added a little bit of heart to otherwise insensible violence.
