Dean vs Dean
Okay, that was the awesomest, awesome thing that has ever awesomed. That's a lot of 'awesome' you say, but I think it's just enough. As a whole the ep wasn't much to write home about, but that short segment was worth it. I think, perhaps that even though it wasn't as physical as Sheppard vs Sheppard, I liked it better. It was deeper. It's like half of fandom (at least the tiny chunk I've bitten off) wrote that section.
I'm almost dizzy from the yo-yo that is Dean Winchester. He's a jackass, he's a hero, he's lower than pond scum, he loves Sam, he treats Sam like crap, he's passive, he's aggressive, he's passive aggressive. But tonight, he broke my heart again.
Finally, I'm so thankful that they put that out there. Dean's ambivalence has never sat right with me, something fundamentally changed and it wasn't the Dean I fell in love with in S1. I get that he could be tired of the gig, but not willing to go to hell. I loved Dean vs Dean, but how cool would it have been to see Dean vs John?
At, what 28-29? Dean has finally realized what most of us do as teenagers or in our early twenties. Parents aren't perfect, and we are not them. Similar, but not a cookie-cutter replica. Daddy!John went to hell, so Dean should too. But now Dean/=Dan, and he realizes that he doesn't have to walk gently into that good hellfire. THANK GOD, AND IT'S ABOUT DAMN TIME!
I really enjoyed Bela here too. She wasn't annoying, but she was smart, conniving, and hot. It made sense for her to be there in context, and if the writers could do that forever, I would be happy. Sam/Bela was hilarious, even if it felt a little over done. Jared's goofy turned on faces were so worth the het. : )
Also, demon!Dean is damn fine.
Next week will also be a tear-jerker. It kind of sucks just thinking about it, but I can't wait.

Also, I curled my hair yesterday and it's still bouncy. This makes me feel good.
