does it even really matter

They gave everyone a 5% raise at work. I now get 20bucks+ an hour. I guess if I'm stuck in hell, the better compensated the more I can do on my days off. I kinda wish they'd just given our two newest people a bigger bump though, our starting pay is the biggest barrier to getting good people. I elected to not go to work tonight and enjoy holiday leave instead of bagging the OT. I'm going to go see the Forever Purge then watch my favorite Twilight Zone episodes.
Tomorrow a guy is going to come see if he can redo my window and the water damaged boards so I have to get up early. The old guy still owes me 800$ and I am never going to see that money again. It's also the last week of community band so next week I'll have more leeway on when I sleep. I might start going to the lake in the morning and sleeping later.
Sam didn’t forget about the heart, but he didn’t push either. He kept an eye out for it though and caught a flash occasionally when Bucky bent over the dinner table with AJ and his math homework, or playing catch with Cass, or carrying in the groceries for Sarah. It was such a tiny thing, and fast, and didn’t make the mistake of coming anywhere near Sam again.
Not that Bucky avoided him, the opposite in fact, having worked with Sam to finish a remodel in the garage that gave him a little room and some privacy to himself. The house was full, table crowded, but Sam wouldn’t change a thing. Three adults and two kids meant there was always something going on or someone who needed something.
Same rules different universe as the Bucky/Tony independent hearts story Questions of the Heart.

I'm glad to have a job. I'm lucky its a secure job where they can't fire us. But wow do I wish someone else would hire me. : )
