Challenge #3:Pimp Your Favorite Communities, Fests or Challenges!*

Here's a couple I didn't see all over the place, but I only got through about half the pages of comments. I did go through all the communities I subscribe to on my profile page and get rid of the really inactive/i'm not interested in anymore, so there should be some options there if anyone wants to take a gander. There are a lot of exchanges.

ladybusiness -Lady Business opened in March 2011. We talk about the politics of reading, politics in general, tame unicorns, face punch fascists, read things outside our purview because rules are made to be broken, wrestle impostor syndrome, cheat on books with other media, pile new books onto our reading pile, and spend lots of time being awesome.

Since it's collaborative, there are several people posting and I'm generally interested in something. It's smart and interesting.

monthlysupergo -Monthly Challenge! Super Go! is a monthly challenge community featuring various sorts of challenges that fandom has created over the years. Mostly, these will be in 'miniature' form. Instead of a bingo card, which is 5x5 squares, we'll do something like 3x3 or even fewer. A itty-bitty-bang will be a couple thousand words and get an icon-sized bit of art. Etc.

January is icons, and I'm going to try to play along this year.



*I imagine this will be the last time a big participation community uses the word 'pimp' to promote since I have seen a lot of people going off about it. I mostly don't care, words/terms change, but I still miss old fandom and when I was involved more and everyone pimped stuff. I don't know enough to weigh in about fake outrage and call-out culture, but this sure seems like a small harmless thing.
