Yes, that amused me too. Of course so many things fly by in the battle scene that it's easy to miss a lot of stuff.

Scott amused me with his continued fanboying of the rest of the Avengers, such as when he's the only one looking enthusiastic when Thor does his ramble about the Aether.

I just made a post discussing why I think Tony's visit with Howard was actually key to the plot.
