I really enjoyed this. I'm easy to please and I was hooked from start to finish.

A. Dean gasping in his grave totally pinged my need to cuddle him and feed him pie. Also, the grave marker makes me want to cuddle Sam. I love that it's a cross made out of scavenged wood. I think Dean would approve.

B. The opening titles are awesome. The birds and the effects completely creep me out. I wonder if birds will by symbolic or if it's just the wings.

C. That bow-legged walk down the road seriously melted my brain. It's in my top ten hot Dean moments.

D. Busty Asian Beauties. I'm so over it, wouldn't mind if they never mentioned it again.

E. Bobby. Bobby! I'm really glad I gave this character a chance. There have been moments I didn't like him, but this ep was a golden moment for him.

F. Dean's face when Bobby splashes him with holy water is the best thing ever. Ever.

G. Wedge Antilles. That's such a stretch and a bad pseudonym. Of course, then we get Dean's "Are you kidding me? What don't I know about that kid?" Turns out that it's a lot, and I think that's gonna hurt Dean worse than hell.

H. Oh, geeze! Sam's face when he sees Dean just breaks me. Then Dean's "Hey, Sammy." makes me into goo.

I. "Kristy's" exit makes me giggle. I love me some awkward Sammy.

J. I wonder if Sam's lying about pulling Dean out of hell. That's not quite what I was to say, because I'm sure that it was Castiel, but Sam looked awful shifty eyed like he wans't saying everything he knew. Probably it's just about his new mind whammy, but I just wanted to ponder aloud.

K. I totally made a high pitched noise when Sam reached for Dean's amulet. I just . . . I mean, poor Sam. And Dean can't take his eyes off it.

L. Flashbacks to hell = bad. Close up of freckles = OMG HOT.

M. Dean saying 'sweetheart' is enough to make chocolate melt.

N. Aw, don't harsh on Sam's iPod. Their faces at the music is just awesome.

O. Dean doesn't seem to have a thing against psychics, just Sam's powers. I wonder if he can still hear John's last words to him about Sam turning.

P. Dean/Pamela/Sam would be so freakin' hot. Scorching hot. I like her, too bad about that whole eye thing.

Q. I'll bet it took a lot of takes for Jared and Jensen to do the "You are not invited!" scene without someone laughing.

R. Dean slapping the demon was kinda shocking. I love that Dean went there, his hatred of demons is pretty unlimited. He's gonna be pissed to see Ruby again.

S. Bobby's "We could choose life!" cracks me up!

T. "It's the end. We're dead, we're all dead." I smell an apocalypse! I have a theory that it's not going to be so cut and dry as we all maybe think it will be. Then again, maybe I'm giving Kripke too much credit.

U. Sam exorcizing the demon with his powers could not have been cooler. I love me some empowered Sammy. He's just so calm, and collected. Before it was anger driving him, I'm not sure what this is.

V. Ruby. I hope they explain how she came back from wherever Lilith sent her. I like the new actress. I really like that for once Ruby doesn't know what's going on. I think how condescending she was last season really turned me off. She's got Dean pegged (but not like that) and I like that she considers him in her plans. I think she might have matured a little.

W. Dean and Bobby sitting around waiting was so funny. Castiel definitely knows how to make an entrance. I liked the wing effect better than actually seeing them. I think that actor is smokin', and I loved how he delivered his lines.

X. Why can't Dean see the angel's true visage? I'm sure this is important for the new mythology where going down. Is it because he lacks faith or because he either is or thinks he is unworthy?

Y. Dean/Jensen really nails it here. I love his story arc so much, I just wish that I knew for sure that he'd get the happy ending he deserves. He's given up so much for other people.

Z. "Because God commanded it. We have work for you."


So, what is Dean going to tell Sam in the next ep? Is he going to come clean about being God's chosen one or will Castiel make him swear his silence? When Sam and Dean finally get on the same page, there's going to be some major ouch going on.

Also, I think that this might be the season of wincest. Both guys have grown, and grown apart so they're going to have to figure out how they fit in each others lives again. Big brother and little brother isn't going to be enough to cut it. They have to be partners. It's hard to open your eyes and see that this person who you thought you had in this neat little box is actually their own person with their own mind. I was shocked when I figured that out about my little brother. : ) One look, and suddenly everything changes. Wincest, baby, it's poetry.

She looked a little surprised to see Dean and Bobby. What I thought was telling was how calm she was when Sam leapt at Dean with a knife. Sure, she squeaked a little, but then she just hung out for a while. If she was a one-night stand wouldn't she be a little more freaked out that the guy she just slept with is apparently a raving loony?

I agree... just in this episode alone, I got more than a few wincest-vibes. But you're right- they're going to have to have a true partnership, which would allow the growth needed for wincest. I hope it goes that way and not the way of sam vs dean, because that would make me incredibly sad.

I thought there was maybe a little distance in this ep, like their edges don't quite match up like they used to. But I hope they work it out at least a little before the season arc does whatever it's going to do to the boys. I'd be okay with some sam vs dean, but I'd want some kind of resolution out of it.

I think it's Misha Collins. I looked him up on imdb but I don't think I've watched anything he's been in. I'm usually really terrible with names. When I first started reading spn rps, I confused Jensen and Jared all the time.

I've seen some Dean/Castiel rumbling already on my flist. It could be good, but I think I'd take some convincing.

Okay no fooling, my best friend calls them Grumpy (the first couple episodes she saw were full of very angry Dean) and Floppy (for Sam's hair), and says that when she reads J2 she pictures them both as Jensen.

Burning out the eye sockets was so very gross and creepy. I love this show!

Man, good luck with Georgia. They wiped the turf with us last year and next year I think they're our home opener. We don't play today. I'm kinda glad for the break. Even when I don't go to the games, I still have to get out to the Student Union to watch them on TV and gamedays are crazy busy here. I think I'm gonna try to clean up a little around the house and try to write part of my bureaucracy paper.

Probably, I'll end up writing something fannish though. I'm weak like that.

yeah i'm a little worried but i'm also hoping after what happened with UNLV that they've managed to get angry enough to actually be a decent opponent and not get destroyed...but knowing the Sun Devils...i'm gonna turn it off shortly after the first play

also get the crazy here too...i can't go anywhere south of my house until at least tomorrow..the joys of living this close to campus without actually living there...my friend got stuck in the crazy traffic last weekend...

i know about the weak thing. i've gotta get started on my lesson plans...but i kinda wanna make icons and write some fic that's been bugging me and not do the crap i'm supposed to do...fannish is so much easier than figuring out how to cover Rome in a week and a half and give a midterm

You never can tell what will happen. There's always the chance that something crazy will happen. In the Big XII it's really bizarre. It's like on any given day any team can beat any other team. Sure, usually it's Oklahoma or Texas but you can never tell for sure until the fat lady sings. And the northern half of our conference is such a jumble that we hardly ever know who's gonna come out on top.

I took some education classes before I dropped that track and went back to polysci. In my ed-tech class we had to do a powerpoint presentation over something that applied to our field. So I did government and compared Star Wars the republic and empire to Rome's senate and emperor. Yeah, I'm that much of a geek. : )

I'm going to campus later so I can use the fast reliable internet to download caps from SPN 4x1 so I can make icons later. It's so addicting.

Ugh, this show is my bad boyfriend. :( It made me so mad last season I just said fuck it to the final episodes, and the premiere...was slightly better, but not much. Kripke has some serious issues with letting girls have agency (sexual or otherwise) in the world and allowing them to keep it without getting killed/hurt for it. It's ridiculous.

And yet...Castiel was REALLY HOT. :( :( :( See icon. I feel dirty for even giving s4 a chance, but I will.

Also, W=yes yes yes. I didn't know what I liked so much about it, thanks for clearing it up. :D

I really didn't like last season. I thought that they really dropped the ball in the storytelling department. The writer's strike didn't help, but I don't think Kripke really has it together enough to pull off something this huge. I think he's got too much of that good ole boy syndrome in him.

I'm totally hands off about the way SPN treats women. On one hand, Dean hates demons and I'm okay with that. On the other hand, he's a bit of a pig with most women. I choose to enjoy the show as a whole.

Castiel was amazing. He was new and I think that it really works. I'm excited to see what else he does this season. : )

Castiel is just. Seriously, if his eyes weren't so blue he'd be the absolute perfect man of my dreams. Not that I'm complaining or anything, cuz wow, he's hot. I think some of my fascination is the idea of him being calm and somewhat gentle against Dean's freak out. That's just uber attractive to me.

You know, I liked the movie Dogma, but it was never a big thing to me. I might have to go watch it again since it seems like half of fandom referenced it in their ep reviews. : )

I watched it twice yesterday. Think I might watch it again today just for some make ground noise. Dean's hoarse voice makes me wiggle with happy.

I'm sure that AC/DC enjoys it. SPN pays for the songs and they get a brand new audience of mostly young(ish) females. I went and bought an AC/DC cd just to have a few of their not-so-famous tracks.

I get that Dean likes women, and I'm okay with that. BAB just seems like a tacky joke at the expense of his character. Or, you know, maybe if they had an Asian on the show once in a while. Maybe? I don't know.

Yeah, I didn't figure he would. I know kinda what happens for the next couple of eps, but I don't really know any of the specifics. It's like getting ready to watch a train wreck. I feel all antsy, and even though I think it's gonna be awesome, I also want to get to the end where Sam and Dean hug and walk into the sunset (or a pleasant afterlife) together.

The whole thing with people not being able to see the real visage of holy/heavenly beings is that as such, their beauty is too much for a sinful soul (ie: human) to handle. It was just like in the Bible with the Arc of the Covenant. If you were sinful and touched it, you died. Same idea. So it's kind of like, looking at an angel directly is like staring into the sun. (refer to X because I skipped everything else).

I don't know what I think of the new Ruby at this point in the game. We'll see what happens with her.

Not gonna lie, better not be no fucking Sam/Ruby going on. NOT ON.

I get that for everyone else, but Castiel said that some people where special and could see and hear him for what he was. Since God told him to pick Dean out of hell, I think Castiel assumed that Dean would have been one of those people. In fact, he tries twice to talk to Dean using his real voice and ends up shattering all the glass in the room. He seemed surprised, and then he went straight into the "you don't think you deserve to be saved" eyefuck. That's where X came from. : )

I've seen that a lot of people didn't like the new Ruby, but I think that I can like her way better than blonde Ruby. I didn't like the actress and I couldn't stand Ruby's arc in S3. It's still early in the game though, but I want to be able to like her. Sam/Ruby would not make me happy. He doesn't even like her, but I think that maybe the Sam I used to know has checked out of the building. : (

On X, a thought I had is that, for lack of a better analogy, Dean is Lancelot. That is to say, in all the ways that truly matter, he is pure and good and his heart is in the right place. He wants to do good, wants to save people and save the world and he almost always puts himself last. But there is one huge, glaring "dark spot" on his soul that keeps him from experiencing what only the truly pure (such as Galahad) can experience. For Lancelot, it was his unrepentant love for and subsequent affair with another man's wife. For Dean, I think it's the unrepentant love for Sam and the dark places he'll go just to keep Sammy safe. Or just to keep Sammy, period. It's not the best analogy, but it's the closest I've got. And hey, it's yet another subtextual example of Why Wincest Works.

Also, I totally agree on the LOL @ Bobby's "choose life." It made me think of Bobby starring in that Wham! music video with the "CHOOSE LIFE" sweatshirts and the teensy neon shorts. Rock on, Bobby. Rock on.

I like that, I've always loved the Arthur legends. I was just thinking about Dean's "We're each others' weak spot." speech and it makes sense. It's kinda sad that their bond, whatever it is, is twisted enough to keep Dean from 'glory'. I guess that I just hope that it's also good enough to keep Sam from total darkness.

Didn't Lancelot kinda get a happy ending? I remember one version where he saves Guinevere from burning at the stake. They ride off together and are never found again.

Bobby was spot on in this ep. Usually I get a good eye roll in for him, but not this time. : )
