Atlantis Season One-Three: Is Atlantis tied down? Do they use some sort of booster rockets or something to keep them in place? Wouldn't they drift?

I was wondering exactly that recently. I feel like they *must* have mentioned it during The Storm/The Eye in season one, since they had to deal with the tidal wave, because I keep thinking I would have wondered then if they hadn't. On the other hand, hand-waving is sort of an involuntary, knee-jerk reaction for me when I'm watching my favorite shows, so I figure I should rewatch/check the transcript at some point...

But am going to watch this space, in case someone else knows and comments! :)

That would be an obvious place for them to have mentioned something, definitely. I just didn't remember either, and it would make a good start off point for a fic, I just wondered if I had missed it and it was actually common knowledge.

I always assumed that the docking that held the city to the sea floor also 'anchors' it, even if it's just a directional thing to keep it on the same spot.

Before I Sleep:
