SG:1 or The Quest for the Holy Grail: stage one
So they're back to looking for Merlin's weapon, that's cool.
Landry gets point for the Monty Python reference! He's actually okay in this episode, there might be hope for him yet.
Vala's subplot was pretty entertaining. I really like her. She's cute and has great lines, and seeing her trying to mesh with SG-1 is just pretty damn amusing. Did anyone catch the name of the doctor, because I'm thinking a fic from his POV would be quite ... interesting.
Cameron and Daniel had some good exchanges. Cameron called him Jackson through the entire episode (I think, I should watch again though, just to make sure) because he was jealous of Daniel going to bat for Vala. Seriously, Cam had to drag him away from her at the beginning of the mission, and Daniel just let him. Cameron tries to make it up to him by coaxing him to head back to the SGC (so they can get some nookie time) but then of course, the shit hits the fan. Daniel then gets sent back to the dog house for making Cameron walk all the way back to the cave when he gets to stay at the village. The next time they're together is back at the SGC, they've probably already had some make up sex, so Cameron isn't too irritated by Daniel making him play nice with Vala, but he's going to be damn sure that she doesn't sit anywhere near him at lunch.
Next point, is there anything more adorable than a grown man trying to stave off sleep? Seriously, Daniel looked like an overgrown toddler trying very hard not to take a nap that he desperately needs. Cam was just as adorable with his incoherent babble. ADORABLE!
I can't wait for next week! Crossover!
SGA or Ethics, what ethics?
I don't even know what to write about this episode. It irritated and poked at me, that I didn't believe that the Atlantis expedition was capable of such a serious breach of trust. I know that I'm not that committed to Michael, who I only began to love last week, but seriously! How could they do that to him? Again? When it worked out so well last time?
I liked the scene in the tent where the wraith are talking. I decided they were unionizing, and giggled for a bit.
Woolsey was the other bright spot in this episode (carried over a bit from SG-1). I just love him. I have ever since Scourge or whatever it was last season when he yelled at the Frenchie. Seeing him in command reds was just awesome. I'm getting a yen to watch a little Voyager as the Doctor was definitely my favorite character there.
I think the writers missed some chances to give Sheppard some good lines. I'll be glad for an episode where they've all had a chance to rest and get back in the swing of things. Sheppard/McKay had some good exchanges, but nothing much that jumps out at me.
Weir is still at the bottom of my all time favorites list. Her "pep talk" and the guys' reaction just made me roll my eyes. I mean really! Then when Sheppard marches in to ask permission to knock Woolsey in the head and they had that exchange, it only got worse. It was painful to watch, in fact. I think that I don't like her voice, there's just something about it that makes my teeth grind. It's totally irrational, or some sort of repressed memory. I dunno...
I hope we see Michael again. I even hope he gets a little of his revenge on with Atlantis. I can't wait to see what happened to Carson. I'm pretty sure it was a matter of "reaping what you sow" there. I'm totally on Michael's side in this.
Just to elaborate, I'd be okay with them killing the humanoid Wraith. They're not really human, and they never will be. There's no point in keeping them around, and they're a lot easier to control temporarily like that. It's their treatment of Michael that I find disgusting. Kill him, he asked for death, but don't take away his choice, and betray him.
