Can I have my cake with death on top?
Oct. 31st, 2008 11:53 pmOkay. I just had a very depressed week even through nothing out of the ordinary happened.
I talked to my mom Sunday night until I told her my phone was dying and it cut out. No one ever calls me so I didn't bother to charge it until Monday night. Tuesday morning, the substitute auto call woke me up at 5:30am so I put it on silent and basically forgot about it. Imagine my surprise when a freakin' cop bangs on my door, scares me to death, but politely asks me to give my mom a call so she'll stop pestering every single police office on campus and in town. Turns out she called my stepmom, my stepdad, my brother, two of my closest friends and was searching for my professor's number if I hadn't called her back by Thursday afternoon.
I was irritated while also slightly amused. I mean really. I'm 25. I think I should be able to go a week without calling in, right? ETA: Okay, so I had ten voice messages that I hadn't heard, but she didn't gent my little brother to email me - that would have had a reply in like an hour. She didn't even want anything, just worrying over nothing.
I really liked the last two eps of SPN. I'll try to catch up Sat/Sun with polls. I'm really loving this series, and I hope everyone who abandoned it last year will give it another chance.
thady if I don't email you by next week, please take out a hit on me and I'll pay you back in my will. I am entirely sucking at everything lately.
Also, since it is Halloween, I did the scariest thing I could think of. I sent my first query letter to an agent in regards to a book. A YA book I've finished, clocking in at 62,758 words. And yeah, odds are I'll win the lottery without buying a ticket before I get published, but . . . I did it, yeah? \0/
