After 10+ years of working public service, my student loans - original amount $56k(ish) with $62k(ish) owed last month - got forgiven. Huge weight gone, and they even refund about $1,500 I overpaid because I didn't get the process started in time.

The Razzies really disliked Chris Evans and Ghosted (I didn't bother to watch it.) but I really hope Meg 2 wins everything. That was my bitter disappointment movie last year.

The Meanest Time Travel Movie Ever Made, 20 Years Later. If ‘The Butterfly Effect’ is remembered for anything, it’s unrelenting cruelty. The thing is, it was almost even crueler.

We watched the Director's Cut without realizing it was a whole separate ending, and were super confused when we were talking to people who'd seen the theatrical release. I still like this movie - with either ending.

I managed to bring two of the outside cats in during the cold snap and then the rain and we were all fairly comfortable. They were given the choice to go back outside yesterday morning and I tried not to take it personally when they immediately darted out and proceeded to frolic, roll in the dirt, and make love to the driveway again. I blame the black cats, they turned into bullying buttheads as time went on.*




* I mean not really, cats are territorial and Shark-Bait isn't neutered yet because Operation Catnip cancelled their last two TNR clinics. They all behaved so well for the small space of my house. I still believe Shark would be someone's fantastic companion, but I also won't be sad if we don't get that cold again and I don't have to kidnap him inside again.

I remember that disturbing ending to Butterfly Effect. Can't recall if it was the alternate ending on the DVD we had or that was the preferred director's cut we watched but yes. Chilling to this day and stronger than the theatrical release.

Yeah, the disturbing ending was their original intention. I was surprised from that article that the studios never even screened it because they were too scared of it. It was just so different and brutal - different from the cookie cutter Hollywood ending of every movie ever.

I love that photo, and story about the cats. My sister had a cat like that, he was abandoned by his owner and ended up living in her back garden. She bought him insulated huts to live in, fed him, got medical help etc when needed, and he came inside too when it was really cold. But his heart belonged outside, and like yours, went scampering away as soon as the door was opened.

Outside cats are so precious - tiny, little, ecosystem ruiners. I got them little houses at the start of December, and I've only seen one cat use it like twice and then none of them touched it again. I'm not mad . . . I'm just disappointed. : )

It was really obvious Shark hadn't been inside before, but he calmed down pretty fast. It was the end of week two when he jumped up into my lap for the first time, so I think he has potential!

Thanks! You could see I was going in the wrong direction even after 8 years of paying before Covid gave me some relief. I had several moments of just . . . extreme panic thinking I would never be done.

I mean, I was young and stupid with my loans. My dad took out loans for my undergrad, and I took out the max I could for grad school because I didn't know what else to do with my life, and then ended up never finishing.

The last three years were such a yo-yo of hope and dreams with Biden trying to forgive loans and getting slapped down by the court, and rehashing the PSLF rules, and then doing what they could in big batches. I'm so thankful to have found my niche (even if I still kind of hate my job) to qualify for this. : )

I only watched the Stan/Mackie bits that tumblr threw at me when Ghosted came out. I don't think I've watched a real Chris Evans movie since Gifted. I also hadn't realized that even with as bad as some of the Marvel movies have been, this is their first Razzie with that last Ant-Man.
