I tried to watch SPN tonight, but only managed to get through the first twenty minutes or so. I started watching an episode a few weeks ago with an evil killer clown, and I thought I would like it but had to turn it off halfway through.

Anyway, could someone rec me their fav episodes, and maybe a place I could dip my feet in the water before buying/renting the seasons?

I'd be much obliged.

Season 1 or season 2?

I have no idea. I have yet to watch a complete episode, but I want to. I've just seen bits and pieces of creepiness and it looks very entertaining.

They played rock, paper, scissors in tonight's ep. It was uber cute. : )

From season 1 I love the Pilot, Skin, Home, and ASYLUM! DEFINITELY WATCH ASYLUM! OMG! Scarecrow is also pretty good, and Hell House is pretty funny. If you decide you like Sam and his phychic thing, the ep Nightmare is awesome. Salvation and Devil's Trap, the last two eps of the season, are also very good, and lead into the first ep of season 2, In My Time of Dying, which is WONDERFUL.

Also good from season 2: Blood Lust, The Usual Suspects, Crossroad Blues (mainly for the intro sequence which is off the charts fantastic), Hunted, Nightshifter. I absolutely loved Born Under a Bad Sign (FREAKY) and Tall Tales (HILARIOUS), but those are a couple of episodes that seem to polarize people - people either love them or hate them. I've heard that the episode What Is and What Should Never Be is excellent, but that's the one I missed so I can only pass on what I've heard.

Yay Supernatural! I haven't thought about the actual episodes all summer, but now that I am, I'm all excited for season 3...

Thank you so much! I will definitely start with those in my attempt to swallow a new show. I really appreciate the help. I hate catching a show, but having to watch one of those so-so episodes that don't really pull people into it. I know every series has them, so I'm happier with a jumping point.
