March movie roundup!

Green Book- I thought I liked it, but then reading the response of Dr. Shirley's family I was out. BlacKkKlansman should have won.
Captive State- I didn't really know what this one was, I saw a trailer, and thought 'okay, I'll give it a shot'. I shouldn't have. It turned out to be a spy movie that happened to have aliens. I didn't care about any of the characters. I thought about leaving in the middle, I probably just should have.
Captain Marvel- I liked this one a lot more than I thought I would, though granted, I did go see it at a place where I could also eat tacos and drink booze so that might have helped. Carol is great, and her relationships with everyone is great, and Sam Jackson was mostly adequate, the final flight/fight scenes were outstanding and I want more Carol. Avengers had better not change her character too much! I do wish we hadn't stayed for the final post credits teaser. I don't need that in my life.
Us- I really enjoyed watching this in the theater, there are lots of things to think about afterward, but it seemed a little spread out. It's definitely bigger and more ambition than Get Out. I'm reading a post now here on ladybusiness about it. Fantastic acting from everybody, and the kids were great.
Dumbo- This was my big disney nostalgia movie. Dumbo was the first animated film I remember watching, and he was the first soft toy I remember having. I still have a Dumbo from my childhood, though I don't think it's that first one. I'm pretty sure I like this remake, but it's such a hard movie to actually enjoy. I definitely still teared up at the Baby Mine song. I remember being terrified of both the clown scene and the pink elephants on parade song, but they did both a lot better this time around. The pink elephants were incorporated in a neat way, and Dumbo even liked them this time.
